I'm frankly as concerned by the nerd males needs to feel that it is a safe space for them still, and that a awkward pass won't get them banned as by females needs for a safe space from harassment/assault. Both need to be taken into account in forming a policy (and I've heard from more than 1 male friend that they'll be asking Readercon for a refund of their memberships because they feel the change will make the con a place they don't feel comfortable/safe any more.

feel free to unscreen this.

Thank you for your input. We absolutely intend to work just as hard to make sure Readercon remains a safe space for all men of goodwill, including the socially awkward, as it does for women! I hope your friends will wait to see what we come up with before deciding that the con will be changing in ways that don't work for them... we intend to work very hard to try and ensure that that doesn't happen.
