definitely find a hobby, but find something else. not that there's anything wrong with Yu-Gi-Oh!, but maybe something that doesn't apply so much to 14 year olds?
True 'dat (did I spell it right?). Been trying that route, just when I drive past the comic book store or take a trip to atlanta, all that nostalgia wells up :[
No. I did not know that you had given it up. Because I NEVER SEE YOU!!!
Let me ask you this: do you want to have sex someday? If the answer is yes, you should reconsider your reconsidering of your decision to drop an anime-related game played by 14-year-olds. That way, when that special girl comes along, she won't be one of those weird girls who wears fishnets, cat-ear headbands, and fairy wings. You know who I'm talking about, and you meet them at anime conventions.
Megan, I laughed so hard when I read this, Tricia thought I was having a panic attack. And yes, there is a fishnet, cat-ear, fairy wings girl in my psychology class. :[ Point Taken :]
Yeah. What Megan said. Instead of spending your energy bonding with 14-year-old Yu-Gi-Oh! players, how about you actually spend time on campus hanging out with your 20 year old college friends... Eh? Eh? Kris and I have 2 extra beds you could crash on if it gets too late! Just remember that next time you have a weak moment.
As one grown man who watches cartoons to another, I can say this: Who cares what anyone else thinks? If you wanna collect and play cards, play cards. Kitty-eared, fairy-winged, fishnet-hose wearing chicks need loving, too.
Or there's also drinking. It's just as expensive and addictive as TCGs, and allows the same sort of fantasy escapism. I even invented a drinking game that involves the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series. It'll get you hammered before the first commercial break.
But if you don't want to play the game, then don't. It's all about what you enjoy. Personally, I got out of TCGs a while ago, mainly because I realized that I was living someone else's fantasy, instead of creating my own (hence, now I doodle in class).
So just have fun, and hang out with people whose company you enjoy. There are a ton of clubs at Mercer, so why don't you get involved with one of them if you're looking for an alternative?
