I'm tired of only being connected to the internet when I'm at my computer. Sure, I can email from my cell phone, but I can't check my Gmail account. I think I want a chip implanted in my skull with Firefox, and maybe Pagespinner and Cyberduck so I can code in my spare time at work, and hell, why not Xcode too. Technology can't really be that far ( Read more... )

I'm with you. I want a chip in my brain to be on the web 24/7. Though can you imagine the annoyance if the connection died? With a computer, I walk away to ease the annoyance but you can't do that if it's in your brain...

Funny, I think you're the first person I've heard recently say technology like that would be a good thing. We were doing cyberculture at college and everyone seemed to just be freaked out by that kind of thing.
Oh, and hello again! *waves*

See, I just had a cyberpunk lit class and I blame that for my current pro-technology feelings. My final paper for that class (on which I got an A and is probably one of my favorite papers I've ever written, partly because I got to quote the X-Files extensively) was about the concept of consciousness in cyberpunk, things like the idea of always being "turned on" or something like that, and it's got me thinking...

And hello again! How have you been?

It won't be too much longer. I think that they have chips that can be implanted in the brains of people with some sort of disorder or cannot move or something (this ditz cannot remember which) that allow them to communicate by moving the cursor on a computer screen by thinking. I could be wrong though. *watches too much Science Channel*

I think I saw an article about that online somewhere...unfortunately, I probably couldn't talk my health insurance provider into paying for it..

And child sacrifice, too, I'm betting!

Yes. Pagespinner is a program which automatically queues children for sacrifice, so that whenever your rating with the Great Evil One starts to decrease, it executes (ha ha) an automatic Black Mass and spills the blood of the innocent. Just make sure you're logged in, or it won't count towards your points.
