When did tags become hip and cool anyway? A year ago, nobody used 'em, and now they're the hip cool thing on all the websites. Back in MY day, we juat had to shuffle through piles of posts and subject lines on the calendar to find something! *shakes fictional cane at fictional grandkids*

I like tagging. But that's cos I'm obsessive and like being able to look at posts by subject for no particular reason.

When I put a book together with coptic binding, I'm working alongside medival scribes.

You do this?! I really want to have a go at this bookbinding lark, but don't really know where to start.

Also, I love the runes you made!

Coptic binding is pretty simple, actually. I'd like to learn flat-back binding, which is more involved but still pretty easy--bookbinding is really just incredibly time-consuming, but not at all hard. Also instead of an awl I've been using this INCREDIBLY KICKASS rotary hole-punch, made for working leather, so I can get it to go through heavy board pretty easily.

Although currently, I'm still waiting for the promised tutorial on this one.

I remember I had a site bookmarked, with a wonderful tutorial kind of set out into sections but then the computer died and I've never been able to find it again.
Have been thinking about going down the printer-paper-and-dental-floss route to learn the stitching technique.

I will somewhat, I am sure. But since I quit my job, craftiness is almost all I'm doing (if I can quit making things for myself and other people, I can keep it up--I've been making a bit of money with it).

I just talked to the boy--when I gave him the scarf yesterday, it was in the high forties. Today we've got about four inches of snow, and he hasn't taken it off all day! His customers are asking about it and refuse to believe that it's handmade :D
