A/N: Another fic up! Sorry for breaking hearts for the last angst fic. Hehehe. Short one, i know. Most of the parts here are flashbacks of Yuya's memories. Enjoy! :>
Being led into the Arioka residence, and then into the study room, Yuya met Arioka-san.
After greeting each other, he heard a knock on the door behind him.
That was when they first met each other.
The boy, who was a few years younger than Yuya himself, unwillingly walked towards the both of them.
Looking at Yuya’s slightly stunned face, he bowed politely.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Arioka Daiki.”
In the middle of tutoring, Yuya sat in front of Daiki who was busy doing his maths problems and looked at him.
He cleared his throat.
“Um… Can I call you Dai-chan?”
Daiki looked up and frowned.
“Takaki-sensei, you, are the sensei here, so whatever names you want to call me with, just do it. You don’t have to ask for my opinion.”
Yuya had a worried look on his face and asked with a low voice.
“A-are you uncomfortable with me tutoring you..?”
“It’s not like that. Sensei, you are thinking too much.” Daiki shaked his head and continued doing his work.
Yuya could only be stunned at how Daiki’s attitude was like.
Looking back at these scenes, Yuya can’t help but to smile widely to himself while the person beside him looked up at him.
“Oi Yuuyan! What are you grinning about? You are the tutor here, can you be more focused!”
Yuya ruffled Daiki’s hair roughly.
“You! How could you be so rude to me, a tutor! Have you finished the problems I asked you to do?”
He crossed his arms and pout at Daiki.
“Finished it long time ago, you, this money cheater tutor.”
“Y-you! If you’re wrong with any of this problems you’re dead meat!”
Yuya turned his head another way, arms still crossed and pouting.
“Ha! That’s impossible.”
Yuya could only get back to check the problems that Daiki did.
In his mind, scenes of the times where he and Daiki had spent together kept replaying.
From the start, this whole tutoring thing was fake.
Arioka Daiki. He’s a smart student who topped his cohort every time without fail. Why would he need help from a tutor if he is so smart.
Yuya is just a newly hired manager in Arioka-san’s company. Being a tutor was just a title for him to watch over the chibi rebel who always get himself into trouble with people.
Daiki’s mother had passed away early, leaving behind only his father and a whole bunch of maids in this house.
After his mother passed away, Daiki became very quiet. He had friends, but they were bad influence.
This was one of the few reasons why Arioka-san had to ask Yuya to watch over him.
There was one other reason. But Yuya felt that now, it is not yet a good time to let Daiki know.
Hence, Yuya made sure that he went to the Arioka residence every single day. And face the emotionless Daiki.
But the reason he became closer to Daiki was because the latter had once skipped classes.
He went out with his groups of friends to hang out outside and were causing troubles.
That day, Yuya had ended work early and reached the residence an hour earlier, just in time to pick up the incoming call from the school.
Hearing how furious the teacher was and how the school wanted to punish Daiki, Yuya took cover for him.
“A-ano, sensei, it’s not like this. You see, I’m Daiki’s older brother and we have, uh, some family problems today and I was the one who went to pick him up from school halfway. It’s my fault that I had forgotten to notify the school. I apologize for what happened.”
Putting down the phone, Yuya rushed out of the house.
After searching everywhere for Daiki, he finally found the kid in the park drinking with his friends.
Bending down with his hands on his kneecaps, he let out a big sigh of relief. Running towards the group, he went to grab Daiki.
But Daiki’s friends misunderstood his struggles with Yuya, hence one of them got up, throwing the bottle of beer aside and gave Yuya a punch on the face.
Daiki was shocked at what had just happened. Without further ado, he quickly took Yuya to a nearby convenience store to buy a bottle of water and some packets of tissues to clean up Yuya’s wound.
After learning about how Yuya covered up for him playing truant in school, and how he rushed out to find him so he can get home in time before his father gets back so he wouldn’t find out what happened today and none of them would get scolded.
Daiki was speechless. He could only bit on his lower lip, feel guilty and hang his head low.
But unfortunately, Arioka-san still learnt about what had happened today.
When he saw the wound on Yuya’s face, he raged even more and took the baseball bat that was coincidentally lying nearby and headed towards Daiki.
He raised the bat and was about to hit his son when the anxious Yuya rushed up and covered Daiki with his own body, taking the damage on his back.
Without even apologizing, Arioka-san threw the bat down and stormed off to his room.
Yuya brought Daiki back into his room. He looked down at him, gave a warm smile and ruffled his hair.
“It’s okay now, don’t worry.”
“I-I’m sorry.. you took the damage for me. A-are you fine..?”
There were tears in Daiki’s eyes.
“I’m okay, it doesn’t hurt since you’re fine now.”
Yuya gave a reassuring smile.
That made Daiki’s heart skip a beat and he blushed.
In return, he tightly hugged Yuya.
“T-thank you..”
Yuya brought his arms up and returned the hug.
“Daiki.. Actually.. Actually i-“
“I like you.”
Yuya looked down at Daiki, who looked back up from the embrace. Stunned and not clear about what he had just heard.
“W-what did you just say?”
“I said, I. Like. You.”
After Daiki finished his sentence word by word, he encircled his arms around the Yuya’s neck and tiptoed to give him a kiss on the lips.
Pulling back from the kiss, Yuya pulled Daiki into an embrace, letting his head lie on his chest.
“I like you too.”
