From then on, they started dating.
After going out together so many times, Yuya realised that Daiki is quiet only when he is in front of his family members or when he is with outsiders.
Behind closed doors, all of the coldness disappeared.
Daiki is just a rebellious boy who loves to sweet talk to Yuya, but annoyingly has a sharp tongue.
Yuya was happy. Because, he was the only one who could see this side of Daiki.
The day after the kiss, all he wanted to do was to return all of the kisses and hugs that Daiki gave him. He didn’t care about anything alse or anyone else.
Just being with Daiki the whole day, that was enough.
Half a year of dating, Yuya got used to being very sweet to Daiki, but this caused him to feel uneasy.
This was one of the other reason he became Daiki’s tutor.
Initially, he thought, by slowly getting close to Daiki, he could find a chance to tell him. Who knows, it was getting even harder for him to say it out.
He put down his pen, turned to look at Daiki. His arm stretched out and wrapped them around Daiki’s waist, pulling him into an embrace.
“Ne, Dai-chan, why don’t you tell me more about your family.”
Yuya felt the body that was in his embrace stiffen up, he bit his lower lip.
“Nothing much about them anyway. They are how you normally see them.”
Hearing Daiki’s tone in the reply, he knew he shouldn’t ask further.
Hence, he just tighten the embrace and bent down to plant a soft kiss on Daiki’s head.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about them. Are you tired already? You still have classes tomorrow.”
Sitting beside Daiki’s bed after the latter fell asleep from tiring himself out from doing work, admiring his cute sleeping face, Yuya used his finger to brush the hair away from covering Daiki’s eyes.
“Oyasumi.”
He kissed Daiki’s forehead and covered him properly with the blanket. Getting up, he went to off the lights and made his way out of the room.
Leaning back on his office chair, he look down at the watch on his right wrist.
30 more minutes and he’ll end class. Since I don’t have much work today, I shall probably go pick him up.
Yuya got up and took his jacket, getting ready to leave when his office telephone started to ring.
Knocking on the door, he entered Arioka-san’s office.
“Is there any help you need from me, Arioka-san? Or did anything happen to Daiki?”
Yuya looked up with a slightly worried face.
“There’s nothing wrong with Daiki. But recently, I can see that you are on very good terms with him. Since it’s like this, I guess it’s about time you tell him.”
“U-uh, about that..”
The most worrying thing had to come now, Yuya’s hands that was behind him, nervously clenched into fists.
“Rina is coming back. Within half an hour, the plane she is in will touch down. How about you go and pick her up.”
“Yes, Arioka-san.”
Yuya went to pick Rina up from the airport. On the way home, they didn’t talk much in the car as Rina stared at Yuya, who kept a worried face during the whole car ride.
Worried. Very worried.
Yuya stood there, seeing the maids carrying Rina’s belongings upstairs. To the room that is next to Daiki’s, the room that Daiki called, “Guest Room”. He couldn’t help but to worry more as time goes by.
Seeing all these, Daiki’s face kept flooding his mind. His heart was beating so fast that he had to take a deep breath.
Suddenly, a pair of arms were wrapped around Yuya’s neck. He turned around to see, thinking it was Daiki who got home already. But no, the face belonged to Rina.
“What’s wrong?”
Rina laughed at Yuya’s question.
“That should be my line. We’re getting married soon already, do you think I can’t understand all your little movements? What are you worrying about, Takaki Yuya?”
After saying all those, she pressed her lips to Yuya’s, their height was close to each other which is why she didn’t have to tiptoe, unlike Daiki.
Yuya closed his eyes, but all he could think of were the kisses he shared with Daiki although it was not the latter who was giving him those kisses.
But when he opened his eyes, and with Rina’s lips still on his, what he saw behind her was the last person on earth he wanted to see in such a situation.
Daiki, who was standing at the main gate, was stunned at the kiss scene that was happening in front of his eyes.
Noticing how stiff Yuya was, Rina broke the kiss and followed Yuya’s gaze.
There was Daiki, standing still there, with a smile on his face.
A smile that was indescribable.
