Dazzling lights of every color swirled around Yamamoto, fluttering gently against his skin like a invitation to dance. It was beautiful, breathtaking, like a dream that Yamamoto had never dared to dream. The lights were gentle, but there were no shadows, no darkness to be afraid of.
“I was hoping you’d like it,” Yara murmured, wrapping his arms around Yamamoto’s waist from behind, pulling him closer.
“It’s… it’s perfect,” Yamamoto sighed, relaxing against Yara. His eyes closed in contentment for a moment, but the lights were still there and Yara was still holding him.
It was real too.
“We can stay here,” Yara said, turning Yamamoto in his arms. They pressed together, chest to chest, hand in hand, lips nearly brushing but not quite. “If you want to stay here with me, Ryouta.”
It was a ridiculous sort of offer - why wouldn’t Ryouta want to stay here, in with the lights? - but at the same time Yara’s words made Ryouta’s heart squeeze, his breath hitch for a second.
It was that Yara gave him the choice.
It was that to Yara, he mattered.
“Yes,” he said, voice seizing for a moment because his throat was so tight with emotion. “Yes a thousand times.”
But all other words were lost as Yara smiled, closing the distance between them for a kiss, holding him as if he’d never let him go. Safe, but more than that, happy.
Ryouta was happy.
