21 year old detective, Takaki Yuya arrived on a busy scene. An orderly chaos, if you will. He ducked under the yellow tape and hustled his way over to where his boss stood with two other team members. “Ah, Takaki.” One nodded towards him and their boss turned to pierce him with her fierce gaze.

“Takaki, join Kishimoto and Nakajima,.” She snapped as soon as he got there, pointing out several other members, two who were were carefully examining a dead body. The other two were examining a car that seemed to be parked over a large puddle of blood. Did Yuya want to know? Actually, yes.

He would usually ask the boss, but she was in no mood, already snappish without provocation. So he just swallowed his questions until he made it over to Kishimoto Hayami and Nakajima Yuto. Hayami was one of the few other girls on the team but that was hardly a setback. While very pretty, she was also hella fierce, occasionally getting as scary as the boss. Yuto was a slightly perverted dork who often evoked Hayami's wrath, but was actually a really nice guy. A hard and thorough worker, which is the only reason he was still on the team, even after denting the boss's car.

“Hayami, Yuto...” Yuya stopped next to the other two. “What's up?” His eyes swept the area, indicating exactly what he meant.

Hayami looked up from where she was half buried in the car hood. “Shooting.” She answered. “One guy down, bullet to the brain. Second vic in critical condition, on the way to the hospital.” Pointing out several bullet holes in the car, she let Yuto finish filling Yuya in.

“That guy.” Yuto jerked his finger at the dead body. “We haven't ID'd yet, but he's got Yamaguchi-gumi tats on him. The other we think was just an innocent bystander. This place isn't exactly private.” Yuto was right about that. A side road under a bridge, it wasn't used as much, but it still had traffic.

“We're thinking it was a turf war.” Hayami finished, wrinkling her nose as she poked around. “After all, this isn't where Yamaguchi should be. It's Sasaki's....”

Yuya sighed and got to work, helping the other two sweep the car. Halfway through this, the body was removed, which Yuya preferred. Dead bodies were something you, sadly enough, got used to. That didn't really make it pleasant though. As he, Yuto, and Hayami worked, they got lucky. The car was literally loaded. Every little nook and cranny was crammed with drugs. Yuya fingered a white bag with his gloved hand, marveling that such a young man had managed to get a hold of so much...Really, the gangs were something to be feared. Yuya wondered if they could take over city.

Probably.

It wasn't exactly a pleasant thought.

To keep his mind in the present, Yuya twisted so he could eye the boss while he asked. “Why's someone such a storm today?”

Yuto glanced up. “I'm not sure...she was apparently near when the shooting happened. With Yuuri. Showed up where he wasn't supposed to, I'm guessing.”

“Well, it's not like that's anything new.” Hayami remarked.

Chinen Yuuri was the boss's nephew. Not the most clean cut teen in the city, he was constantly getting into trouble. And since he was temporarily staying with the boss, it meant that the trouble he ran into was often not so safe. Not that Yuuri was a bad kid...just troubled. At least in Yuya's opinion. They'd spent some time together and Yuya just thought he needed to stop smoking and get on the right track.

“Mmm...I see.” Crouching, Yuya's gloved finger traced the the edge of the blood puddle. “Damn.....the guy can't have much blood left in him.” He muttered.

“Yeah...well, he's in surgery right now, so we don't even know what his chances are.” Crouching down next to him, Hayami let out a sigh. “Boss said she's head over once we were wrapped up here....”

Yuya glanced up at the car. “Well...I think we're done here. I say we get the car hauled to the garage and let the others take a sweep over the area.”

Hayami nodded and walked away, already flipping open her phone to call the tow truck.

“She hit me earlier.” Yuto was now at his side, whining rather comically.

“Oh, you're so M, you like it.” Yuya replied with a crooked smile. Yuto's pout became a real one.

“Ew, ew, ew, Takaki-chan.” He stuck out his tongue. “At least I'm not a gay M.”

Yuya shrugged, smirking slightly at the rebuttle. “You've never been with Kouta. What do you know~ I mean, if you had hi--” He couldn't go on because there was a hand over his mouth, with Yuto all wide eyed.

“Do. Not. Want. To. Know.” Yuto said quickly and it just amused Yuya even more to see the blush on his face.

“I wasn't really going to tell you, silly. He's my boyfriend! Mine!” Yuya moved the other's hand away and then immediately shut up, because their boss was approaching and Yuya really didn't want to annoy her even more.

“Yuto, you and Hayami wait for the tow truck.” She was already snapping out orders, before she actually joined them. “Takaki, you join me. I need someone to keep an eye on Yuuri once we get there. He went in the ambulance with our victim, I really hope he's staying out of trouble.” There was an eyeroll. “Well? Get moving.” She shooed at Yuya's companion and then turned to him. “Let's go.”

Yuya quickly followed after her and slide into the passenger seat. She began driving just as her phone rang. “Takaki, would you answer that.”

Reaching into her handbag, Yuya found the phone and opened it, answering. “Hello?”

“Hey, it's Yuuri!” A familiar voice came over the line. “...Though....Wait, Takaki?”

“She's driving.” Yuya answered quickly. “What's up?”

“Well, I managed to get the guy's wallet in the ambulance....he's still in surgery though, so I don't know how he's doing. They're not talking to me.” There was a whine and Yuya could just see the slightly younger male pouting in annoyance.

“What's the wallet got?” Prompting him, Yuya looked out the window, trying to gauge how long it would take them.

“I don't know....nothing?” There was a shrug in Yuuri's voice. The next words made Yuya's heart stop. “I just know his name is Suzuki Ryouhei.”

A/N - I felt like nothing really happened in this ch. *sigh* And, while remaining unnamed, I'm sure you can guess who the boss is, right, right, right? XD
