I don't really know much firsthand about car repairs (the accident I have been in there was just cosmetic damage to my car), but when I was processing car insurance checks, I had the impression that if there are repair facilities that are recommended by your insurance company things go much smoother? Especially if there ends up needing to be any kind of subsequent adjustment. You might also ask your insurance company if there's somewhere you can take your car to get an estimate if that would speed up the process/if it's taking them forever to send out an adjuster.
(This all may be information you already know, in which case, sorry I'm rehashing. /o\)
Anyway, I'm sorry things are so stressful on all fronts. :( :( :( Let me know if there's anything I can do to help? Beyond like, magicking you your car back and a better job, which I tried just now and I don't think it worked.
Yeah, my insurance company had a list of approved garages and one of them is luckily right by my house and has all five star reviews on Yelp. Also, when I was talking to my landlord yesterday, she said that's where she took her car and raved about them so...it sounds like a good choice, I think XD
Hopefully the adjuster is coming out this morning and then hopefully I can leave a little early to drop my car off tonight. uggghhhh I just want it to be over :(
I was going to second all that about the repairs. Usually they just want an estimate, maybe to take pictures, and that makes things go smoother. If your repairs take a long time, they might offer you a rental car, too!
