Hi, internet. Boy, I'm shit at LJ, huh?
I'm tired and cranky and fighting with Photoshop, so I thought I'd bring back a meme to do in between throwing tantrums about fonts:
I currently have
207 works archived at AO3. Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 207 (the first thing I posted there), and I'll tell you three things I currently like

We Can Still Have Fun (The Annotated Edition)
This was a mixed media remix that was not well-received, but fuck those people, because I looooooved it.
(Ugh, I just realized this was another victim of Tumblr changing how it stores its images. I need to fix it when I get home /o\ Chapter two is the text-only version.)
1) As a concept, I just love this story. It's three pages from Charles and Erik's books, annotated snarkily in pen by the other. I love the idea (which is from the fic I was remixing) of them semi-spitefully making those additions in a Barnes and Noble and some poor idiot discovering when they get home that their book has been scribbled all over XD Like, as I was writing it, I kept texting pearl_o about how gleeful it made me ( ... )

1) I love the atmosphere of this snippet. It's what made me want to write a longer story in the first place. I think I did a pretty dang good job of making it seem creepy down in those tunnels.
2) I also think I did a pretty dang good job of conveying Charles' anxiety and fear as he inches through the tunnels with Moira. The way that he talks and moves and stutters are pretty effective!
3) "I--there are things that--my stepfather was not a nice man."
"I know," Moira says. "Generally, nice men don't smack their stepsons around."
TO THIS DAY, like, four years later, I remember that line jumping into my head and I still think it's pretty great and, in fact, used it in the longer story, even when I changed a lot of these other things!

This was a little ficlety thing that I totally forgot that I wrote! So this will be fun XD
1) Of course Charles makes the first move. He's already been broken so badly, what does he have to be afraid of? - This is the theme of the story, which was inspired by the song "More Adventurous" and particularly the line "I read with every broken heart / we should become more adventurous." But I really love that idea, that Charles is like, "Well, how much worse can he really fuck this up? Might as well just go for it, I already lived through hell."
2) "I do love you," Erik says. [...] "You know I do." This is a theme that I come back to over and over again in my post-movie stories--Erik loves Charles, but he doesn't love Charles more than he hates the injustice he perceives. Love is not Erik's priority and never will be. And I think, sometimes, Charles understands what that means even more than Erik does.
3) He hopes that one day he'll be dedicated to his fledgling school and his students. He hopes ( ... )
