Title:  Therapy in Words

Therapy in Words
Dear ugly piece of paper,

This is a stupid idea.

Sincerely,
Kakashi.

Dear friend,

Don't be alarmed by this letter. You don't know me, but I know you. Therefore, simply consider this as a pathetic version of Secret Santa. I chose you because you're unlikely to reply, or even care about the happenings in these messages that I send to you. However, and unfortunately, this is a required assignment given to me by the Hokage herself... as a therapeutic means to resolve tensions in a frustrating relationship. Like I said, you probably don't care. I'm not even sure if I care that you don't care. Nevertheless... I need someone to console in. Let me start at the beginning.

There is a man. A very frustrating man who has an aloof personality and strange interest in getting on the nerves of his close friends. He is my sensei - former sensei, to be accurate. He is also my team leader in most of the missions I am assigned to. Thus, it is common and usually comfortable to know that we would always be teammates, partners, comrades... Our latest mission, which resulted in terrible failure, may have threatened much of what we used to share.

This mission requested us to protect the client, a man of important matters in the civilian world, during his travels through an open area of vulnerability, in which there would be a great chance of terrorist attacks or an assassination attempt. As stated before, this man makes many official decisions that affect the state of the civilian world, a world that is blissfully ignorant of the kind of society I live in. Please also note that if any of this information, for some reason, is leaked to your circle of acquaintances, I will come to you in your sleep and violently snap your neck.

Continuing the story, I was assigned along with my sensei - who we will name “Crow” in these letters for reference - to closely guard this important client. And as expected, there was a terrorist attack and an assassination attempt to murder this man. Whether this man was involved in criminal activities or not, I do not know and will never know. I was hired to do a job, and only that job. Unfortunately, I have been accused of performing my job in a terrible manner.

To cut the details and get to the point, I may have messed up...big time. In a moment of combat, instead of defending my client, I rushed to my sensei's side to aide him in the fight. The result? Our client is now in critical condition at a hospital, and Crow was/is furious about my rash decision that also happened to be the “wrong” decision. Since that mission, Crow and I have had several arguments in public and private, and it came to the point that Crow specifically requested I be substituted on his team during future missions. Needless to say, our Hokage, in her angered and drunked state, has taken action. And now I am writing this letter to you as my punishment. Though, I am not the only one. Crow will also be required to suffer in the same method (which he may rightfully deserve). Hokage believes this will be “beneficial” in the relationship between Crow and me. I believe this will be a waste of time.

Like I said, you probably don't care about any of this.
And I frankly don't care about your opinion, either. So I am glad you will not take the time or effort to reply.
Until next week's letter,
Sakura.
