Yes! I arrived safely in Taiwan. I kind of didn't think I would for a while there, but thanks to the incredible kindness of some strangers on my way to the airport, I made it with time to spare.

WOW. That actually sounded really cool. XD XD I mean, no... it kind of sounds like it sucked for the first part... but once you hit that taxi. WOW.

I've been replaced by an AC unit... ::gasp, shock, horror:: I can't breath. I'm melting.

I just wanted you to know Jes that you are the coolest! Not only do you understand social darwinism, but you are clueless just like me. Some guy came up to me asking for money, and as we were driving to the bank (after I said 'okay') he gave me his knife so that I would feel better. I gave him the sixty dollars, but forgot about his knife. The knife is still sitting on my desk. It's nice to know that there are good people in this world, and Jes, you are one of them. I bet that man and the driver think you are the coolest to. Jeschan wa ichiban no saikou hito desu! (my brain hasn't thought in Japanese in forever... you must help me learn before I go myself....)

Becca!!!! What the heck happened?!?!?!?! My dad got us broadband connection for the next 24 hours so you better respond and let me know what happened!

Are you okay?? Well, you'd better be okay if you're posting a reply to my LJ rather than um.. doing whatever is necessary to make you okay. Did you go to the police?

You can't just leave a comment like that in my journal and expect me to not freak out!!!!

Jes-chan, I'm fine, don't freak out!!!! It's okay. I was trying to make the story shorter, and I guess that caused problems. He was a nice guy. He wasn't trying to do anything. He just wanted money so that he could get home, and I helped him. I just got luckier than Ma-chan, who was doing the same thing. Nothing has happened since I gave him the money. He probably thinks I gave him false information. I don't know how else to placate you into believing that I'm okay (without going into a the entire story, which I don't really want to repeat for the fourth time...) Don't worry. And if anything did happen, Luke and Chris would be here to pound whoever into the ground. I'm safe, and shortly I will be traveling to Iowa with my parents.

Okay, I give in. The whole story. I was walking out of the library, and this guy comes up to me. He was well dressed with sunglasses hanging out of his shirt. He said "ma'am can you help me. I really need some money to get home." I said "I would like to help, but I'm sorry I don't have any cash on me." "Well, there's an ATM down the road." "Okay" So we walked toward my car. As we were walking, he said "Here, I'm going to give you my knife so that you feel safe. I'm not trying to do anything." I took it and put it in my backpack. My backpack went into the back of my truck. We went to the ATM and I pulled out $60 for him. Then I dropped him off at a 7/11, forgeting about the knife. We had exchanged addresses. He was going to pay me back $100 whenever he got home (he needed the $60 for a ride to Randsom Canyon.) He left me with a paper contract, including his ssn and dl number, and two contact numbers. When I called the numbers, one was disconnected, and the other had a full answering machine, so I didn't worry. He ( ... )
