Glad to see you wrote more about Clinton vs Sanders! I look forward to reading once my kids get to bed. I was so furious after he won IN AFTER threatening to do a BS contested convention and steal her nomination, because, you know, he's a man so he can do a better job I guess. If CLinton has did that in 2008 she would have been tarred and feathered and the power hungry labels would have never come off!
And the whole contested convention threat - or "contested contest," pfffft - is yet another way the campaign refuses to look more than one step ahead. Because when pressed, he'll say "oh, I'll do anything I can to stop Trump!!" but without acknowledging that contested conventions actually hurt the nominee. That doesn't mean he shouldn't campaign until then (though he should be less irresponsible with the negative attacks, obviously), just that the biggest thing he can do to stop Trump will be to bow out with grace after the DC primary.
It's been really interesting (in a ~gloomy kind of way) to see just how much Hillary being a woman instantly undermines the legitimacy of anything she does relative to if we were considering a man in her place. And the flip side of that is people (and this is actually more likely from men who support her or who are pretty positive on both candidates) completely overlook that social force? "Oh, she lost her ~inevitability, she was going to ~waltz to the nomination" and it's like, no, she absolutely wasn't. There was always going to be a critical mass of people who would kick and scream against her nomination. If Bernie the Special Snowflake hadn't run, then Chafee or O'Malley or someone else would have gotten enough support to justify staying in the race. Not based on anything about their platforms, though they'd have created some platform based on being Not Hillary, but just because there are enough leftist misogynists to vote for anyone Not Her. And it would be harder for her to deal with than it will in the general, because she can't

Congratulations on the move friend! As someone who just moved a couple of weeks ago myself, all the hugs to you and I hope you love your new digs!
((Partly bc of your liveblogs, I have mainlined everything Netflix has to offer of Scandal and you are free to shame me for not joining in on the delight earlier omg))
It's SO WEIRD. Like, following it and the real news cycle leads to this pile-up of all the ways we were wrong about the '90s during the '90s, plus all the ways we're wrong about the '90s today, plus all the ways we don't understand current politics and politicians. Not bad weird, necessarily, I don't mind thinking about this stuff. But weird.
Firstly, HAPPY BELATED B-DAY!!! I hope it was a good one!
Secondly, congrats on the successful move! :D :D :D
I'm finally did my first (and hopefully ONLY) attempt at the "exam of DOOM" this weekend, so I finally have the chance to try and "catch up" so to speak. Though honestly, I'm still mentally and physically exhausted it seems. (^_^)"
I'm so excited that you've written more. (AND ON TUMBLR TOO. O_O") I'm off to check your posts out, and I'm inwardly applauding you because you are a much braver soul than I. I gave up on it all completely after he switch tracks to the "contested convention" deal - and also - have you seen the stuff around the recent chaos at the Nevada Democratic State Convention.
This stuff is depressing and aggravating (hence, me ignoring it all as I moved into exam-mode t-minus two weeks XD).

I have more latitude to decorate this place than I have in recent previous places, so I think I'm going to like it.
And lol, I will happily take credit for sucking people into Scandal. I'm glad you're having fun with it!
