Character Background:
Crona
Being the only child of Medusa Gorgon, Crona was used in a Black Blood experiment, having the once normal weapon Ragnarok melted down and used to replace the normal blood in their body with the Black Blood. From a young age, Medusa treated Crona as a test subject, making the child torture and kill small animals until they got used to killing and if there was any fearful or cowardly resistance shown then she locked the child away in a pitch black room for days. Only until Crona learned that the only way to avoid the punishment was to be obedient and kill the small creatures, the dark room and Ragnarok's bullying would be the result.
Crona's gender is unknown; sometimes hinting towards a male and other times hinting towards a female. The only one who truly knows Crona's gender is Medusa.
Before Crona met Maka and Soul in battle, the orders of Medusa were followed without question but if there was some hesitation in the nervous witch child, Medusa would help Crona's insanity along with a spell. The goal was for Crona and Ragnarok to become the next Kishin and spread madness throughout the world so Kishin eggs (souls that deviated from the path), and even human souls, were eaten by Ragnarok to increase their power and madness. With the rematch with Maka and Soul, Crona's personal bubble was invaded when Maka made the other understand that they didn't have to be alone; she wanted to be Crona's friend and that everything was okay despite the lack of proper interaction with other people. Maka's special power managed to neutralize the abundant amount of evil souls that Ragnarok had ingested and match the soul wavelength that was once chaotic with madness and power.
The enrollment as a test student at Shibusen was a real test for Crona due to the lack of interaction with other people other than Maka and it was very nerve-wracking. Often hiding in corners or slinking by people without making eye contact, it was a big adjustment to make after being used as a weapon for so long. Slowly, with Maka's help, the small circle of friends started to grow and Crona's happiness and confidence increased with baby-steps. It seemed like it would last until Crona discovered that Medusa had survived and taken another body as host to resume where she left off. Crona wanted to stay at Shibusen and Medusa said that they could stay on the condition if they acted as a spy for her.
Ragnarok
Ragnarok is Crona's weapon and he was possibly driven mad by all the evil souls he had to consume as per Medusa's orders. Weapons primarily devour the souls that stray from their path but with Medusa's influence and Black Blood experiments, Ragnarok didn't mind if he ate human souls as well. He's rather loud and aggressive, picking on Crona when he gets the chance. He is a powerful weapon and despite having the consumed Kishin Eggs diminished by Maka's exorcism affect on Crona, he is still rude and greedy, bullying Crona whenever he sees fit. He physically cannot leave Crona's body with exception of the Meister/Weapon relationship where he takes the form of the demon sword for Crona to wield.
Relationships:
People in General - Since Crona's childhood was less than normal, Crona generally has a hard time dealing with people/things they haven't interacted with before. Extremely nervous and shy, and in most cases, if Maka is not in the room Crona will not speak to anyone who addresses them. Ragnarok on the other hand acts no differently to them as he does to Maka or Crona.
Medusa Gorgon - Medusa is Crona's blood mother and her relationship with her child is more of a scientist/experiment one. From the start, Medusa used her child in experiments in her research with Black Blood, even going so far to replace the normal blood with the experimental black blood and a melted weapon. Crona fears Medusa due to her power and the cruelty shown when she was little. Even as Medusa is defeated by Stein and seemingly never heard from again, she returns in another body and acts caring towards her child, manipulating Crona to act as a spy at Shibusen despite the relationships built there. Both Ragnarok and Crona fear Medusa greatly.
Ragnarok - He is Crona's blood weapon and even though he'd prefer to keep Crona alive since his life would be on the line as well, he continues to pick on his meister and demand thanks when he helps out without asking. For non-fatal attacks such as the Maka Chop, he uses Crona as a shield to protect himself.
Maka Albarran - Maka was the only one able to grasp Crona's strange soul wavelength and became the demon sword wielder's first friend. She's the one that got through Crona's mental defenses--simply a mental circle in the sand drawn around her--and showed her that not everything was as scary as it appeared to be. Crona is very attached to Maka and will try things, like attending the classes, when asked to but Ragnarok usually butts into situations with smart remarks about Maka.
Abilities/Special Powers:
Black Blood - The blood that now runs in Crona's veins has the ability to be used to harden against physical attacks; Maka's scythe attacks for example. Ragnarok is the one that controls the black blood running through Crona's veins as he is the blood weapon and if Crona gets injured, he can harden the blood to stave off the bleeding before it gets out of control.
The following attacks can be used with the black blood:
* Bloody Needle: An attack used when Crona's blood is spilled and it can transform into needles that stab at opponents if they draw too near to Crona.
* Bloody Slicer: Blood flung by Crona's wrist transforms into blades that shoot towards an opponent.
Demon Sword Ragnarok - Ragnarok is a weapon that was melted down and transplanted into Crona's circulatory system with the Black Blood. He is physically apart of its body and can be used as a weapon in the form of a sword whenever Crona wishes. Their Scream Resonance is quite powerful and the sound waves from the resonance can repel attacks or be used to destroy things.
The following attacks can be used with Ragnarok:
* Screech Alpha/Beta/Gamma/Delta: These attacks are that are used with their Scream Resonance and they are used with the demon sword form of Ragnarok, sending powerful slashes and sound waves at the enemy. Alpha and Beta have similar forms as a slash attack in the form of a mouth but the Alpha is more powerful with an explosive finish as it is used as a projectile at the enemy. Gamma uses a multi-slashing attack that releases a succession of sound waves while Delta allows Crona to gain a third appendage unleash a barrage of sound waves in any direction around them.
*Black Dragon: This is a form that Ragnarok takes when he absorbs all of the detached human soul eggs and transforms into a dragon form. Due to the boost in power that the human souls provide, Crona's attacks are enhanced as well.
Since Maka's exorcism-like power had an effect on Crona and Ragnarok, it seems that their power has decreased due to the lack of Kishin Eggs but the attacks are still formidable in battle.
Third-Person Sample:
There was just too much. Too many people. Too many rooms. Too many things that Crona didn't know how to deal with.
Not facing anyone, Crona carefully scuttled by people in hopes that the other students wouldn't recognize their newest arrival. Despite Maka explaining that Shibusen was full of nice people who wanted to help, Crona preferred to avoid them all together. What if one of them wanted to talk?! Crona didn't know how to deal with that. Even if one of the other students or faculty said "hello" it seemed like too much. Maybe they suspected that Crona was once their enemy and tried to destroy some of their fellow students! Ragnarok wasn't really helping Crona's situation either. He wasn't too happy that he had to stay quiet and out of the way while Crona attended classes during the day, though when he was allowed to come out... he was grumpy. And when Ragnarok was grumpy, he took it out on Crona despite his diminished size; stealing their food, punching them, pulling at their face. He found the school utterly boring and wanted nothing more than to go back hunting for souls or harass Crona's new found friends.
Definitely too much to deal with.
Eyeing the people close by, Crona slipped around a doorway and leaned against the wall leading to the basement depths of Shibusen. Going back to the cell of a room that Shinigami-sama provided wasn't very comforting but at the same time Crona felt... safe. It was their own place they could stay in--as much as Ragnarok complained that he was bored--and it never changed; with exception of someone visiting at the door once in a while or Maka coming to bring them to class.
Body tensing from the sound of one of the teachers addressing Crona, wide eyes nervously swiveled to the source of the voice before relaxing just in the slightest. It was Marie-Sensei just wishing them a good night. Lifting up a hand nervously, Crona waved back. So one person saw them. It wasn't that bad... was it?
First-Person Sample:
Ano... T-this doesn't look like S-Shibusen... and it doesn't l-look like outside either...
Good job, moron! You got us lost!
I-I can't deal with being lost...! M-Maka was just in front of us...
You walk too slow! Walk faster, Crona!
B-but I-I don't know where I'm going!
You rather sit around and wait for that zombie teacher to show up again?
...N-N-No...
Then get a move on! I'm hungry so if you don't do what I tell you I'm going to steal your lunch again and you can forget about taking any handouts from that flat-chested bookworm! I'll just take those too!
B-but I can't deal with another afternoon without lunch...! It makes it really hard t-to pay attention in class if I don't eat...! T-that's not fair, Ragnarok...!
And sitting around during your boring class lectures all day and having nothing to do after that is?! I'll show you not fair!
O-ow! S-stop pulling at my face, I can't deal with that! That hurts!
Second First-Person Sample:
[Audio]
[There's a slightly muffled voice as the communicator is being handled awkwardly.]
I-Is this... Does it... this way? Ah...
[The speaker hesitates for a moment before audibly swallowing the lump in their throat.]
A-Ano... M-Maka? I'm not sure what this is but... a-are you there? I-I don't know where I am and this place is... strange. I don't know how to deal with strange places... I-If you can hear this, can you.. uhm... answer me? ...Anyone?
Who are you talking to?!
[A surprised squeak precedes the feed sounding muffled once again as the communicator is hugged tightly to a chest in alarm from the different voice that suddenly spoke up.]
What is that?
I-I don't know what it is... I just found it a-and...
You thought it was a great idea to talk to it. I think you've been around those idiots at Shibusen for too long, their stupidity is rubbing off on you, Crona! Gimme that thing!
N-no! Maka might... might answer back!
If you've never seen it before then what makes you think that teacher's pet is gonna talk from it? Hand it over!
[The feed ends from the Off button being pushed after a short protest from the first voice.]
