So, it took me a while, but I finally just saw 3:10 to Yuma a couple days ago.. The newer version. I absolutely loved it. Then I went online just to see if their was any slash fics, like I normally do for movies (What slasher doesn't? XD) and I find this:

Totally not killed for being gay. Do people even watch the movies they bitch about? Charlie Prince was wonderfully psychotic and obsessive about Ben...and, as you rightly noted, he killed someone who Ben had truly come to admire and respect...the only person, in fact, how had risen in such estimation in Ben's eyes. He killed Charlie for destroying that.

I agree! I mean, dear god! He was not killed for being gay! He was murdered because he dared shoot someone Wade had grown to respect and admire, just like you said.

Articles like that really make me angry. A bad guy being gay is not automatically a slight against the gay community; just like a straight villain who likes to have sex with woman is not a slight against straight guys. Seriously. If you want equality, just like respect, you have to give it. >
