Fourth Post-ish

So.. I was not impressed. Not at all.

Well.. at the beginning, I was hopeful. They had Deadpool, Bolt, Sabretooth, Stryker, etc. Everything. It was all good. And then it started to go downhill. Too much background story and not enough utilization of the excellent actors they had at their disposal.

We've been promised Gambit for years, and I myself have been psyched for Deadpool. Both got way too little screentime, and the choice for Gambit, Taylor Kitsch, was simply not great. Ryan Reynolds was perfect, the few times we got to hear him speak. When they first introduced him, I was so excited, because it seemed like they nailed him! Seriously, his snark fit so wonderfully, I wanted more. Hell, I want a Deadpool movie. I don't care how bad it is, as long as I get to hear him crack his hilarious jokes the entire fucking time. It could be the worst movie ever, but Ryan Reynolds could fucking pull it off! XD

And other than that, the CGI was also terrible. It was done by a second grader, I swear. The special effects from the first three movies were way better. Oh, and Hugh Jackman's 'animal' face is the so overdone. I know it's hard to scream all angrily and such, so I commend him for doing it, but it had me laughing my ass off. He did it way too much.. that and striking weird poses... Anyways.

Overall, the first half of the movie was pretty damn good. It had me going, I saw potential up the wazoo. Then I started waiting for Gambit. They had some funny, very comic-esque moments, and then Gambit arrived, but left again.. so I started begging for Deadpool - as I had been throughout the movie - but then I got something completely fucked.

Basically, the second half blew all they had going for them. I am extremely disappointed; I was expecting so much, so it's my own fault. I got my hopes up. Then again, it could have been so good, had they just used the cast they had available to them. That and follow the comics a bit more (Timeline, where did thee flee?!)... And more fucking Deadpool!!!!

Oh, and Dominic Monaghan got screwed. He had like.. three minutes on screen. WTF?! What was the fucking POINT?! *headdesk*

Although, one redeeming quality of the movie was, besides the stupid chick (Okay, she wasn't so bad, but that's not the point), the gay subtext was rather epic. Wolverine and Sabretooth simply refused to stop eyefucking each other. And, at least Deadpool got to say one gay joke before his characterization was obliterated.

*sigh* I'm still extremely disappointed by this. What a waste of acting talent and good storyline this shit was...
