I am thinking about that day it suddenly rained on us while we were sitting on those bleachers that faced the woods and how it was so sudden that it took me a good fifteen seconds to realize it was rain. It sounded as though the woods were applauding my theory which somehow related climbing trees to reaching God, I don't remember much of that. But you knew it was raining from the beginning. And how we were almost going to run back to the school, but realized that all we needed to do was wait under the bleachers. We just needed to wait it out. And we laughed and laughed about that twisted piece of metal you thought you twisted yourself, but then realized that it was like that when you found it.
I am thinking about that day the three of us went to the Craft Fair at Rutgers. And we saw the bagpipers and we heard the choir sing by the lake and we waaaaaaallkeed everywhere. I remember bumming money off the two of you to buy a Mother's Day gift. And do you remember that bridge, with the steps, that curved over the highway? Do you remember racing cockroaches (I did not win.)? Do you remember singing My Girl with me over and over again, and hiding our stuff behind your mom's car tire so it was safely out of sight? That was the day we met Eric at the mall and saw The Prince and Me ("NO! I'm not pretending!"). That was the day we took pictures at the water tower of you all getting electrocuted. I have pictures of Eric lying in the middle of the road.
