Avatar The Last Airbender

Well, a dear friend canellaphile has been giving me grief for a while that I NEEDED to watch Avatar The Last Airbender. Not that I would want to, but NEEDED. She was right. A lot of my personal philosophy is in the show, the Martial Arts are accurate. Each element has its own Martial Art base and Caligraphic style. And now you can be annoyed with everyone else about M. Night casting the movie with 90% white people...

Yeah... very few white people involved in that series. Casting White people is just annoying, especially if they tint the skin any.

I love Katara, she is pretty cool and a fun character. I did like the episode when Aang first met Roku, that was neat.There really is a lot in the show that makes me smile. It is really a neat show with good ideas.

I've been thinking about checking that one out. I'm glad to have your recommendation; so far, I have liked everything you've recommended to me.

I am curious to see what Night does to anime, although I reserve judgement on the race issue until I have actually seen anything of the franchise. I think that's fair at least.

As for the historical reference, honestly, it never fails to amaze me how well-researched anime tends to be, even if its not a "serious" show. Like the Chinese roots for the Dragonball series, for example.
