I want to record here my deepest respect and admiration for the protesters in Egypt, achieving the first major piece of their revolutionary aims - and doing it without instigating violence.

Gandhiji would be proud.

It really is wonderful news; I keep going back to the NBC live coverage of the celebrations in Cairo, because it makes me smile so hard every time. :)

Indeed so - but given that the military had no intention of ousting Mubarak before the protests, it's fair to give the majority of the credit to those protests, I'd say. :)
