Poetry :: Eden's Tide

Aug 11, 2007 12:49

I'm not really going to preface this with any explanation other than, I am a tangled mess at the moment. I feel unwanted.

do you know the beginning of Eden's tide
when everything originated, life divine
when heaven spoke into the darkened void
and earth flowered on the cosmic vine

have you ever felt the ending of Eden's tide
a withdrawing feeling, as if to die
to whither away from existence here
to slumber in the darkness, still and clear

a madness pulls at the soul
whispering cruel untold
commanding it to withdraw
to melt away from it all

what an individual to do
trapped by this enigmatic mood
unsure of whether to stay or go
the choice remains unknowable

the mind decides to pull away
from life, from love, to dwell in pain
it aches and cries itself to sleep
within the night, darkened, deep

do you know the beginning of Eden's tide
when everything originated, life divine
when heaven spoke into the darkened void
and earth flowered on the cosmic vine

have you ever felt the ending of Eden's tide
a withdrawing feeling, as if to die
to whither away from existence here
to slumber in the darkness, still and clear
