Poetry :: Radio Silence

Do you know what is coming
Can you sense what is on the way
Have you felt at all the stillness
And will it bother you someday

For the air is calm
Not broken by lips trembling
Not distorted by sound vibrating
The air-waves buzz and hum

The quill shall take the lip’s place
And ink is the voice’s substitute
To collect those thoughts, feelings
Emotions in need of being strewn

For the air is calm
Not broken by lips trembling
Not distorted by sound vibrating
The air-waves buzz and hum

Someday near, very soon
Even sound shall pass away
Will you miss how it lingered
Will you wish it had stayed

For the air is calm
Not broken by lips trembling
Not distorted by sound vibrating
The air-waves buzz and hum

Or perhaps this testing
This concocted exercise
Is exactly what is needed
Tending hearts, fond of kind

For the air is calm
Not broken by lips trembling
Not distorted by sound vibrating
The air-waves buzz and hum
