Well, maybe it's just that I haven't really tried that hard, but I've never really been a huge fan of the "Big Ten" culture. Honestly, it seems like that's mostly what this place is. Also, what I really loved about Grand Valley/Grand Rapids was that I never felt defined as a "student." I was allowed, and encouraged, to have a life outside of school. And in Bloomington, well, it's a college town, with all that entails. The cool things: awesome/diverse restaurants, decent bars, etc. But all the icky things too, like rampant undergrads who throw keggers until 4 a.m. on a Tuesday. I'm not really a "joiner" either, and I really can't get excited about things like clubs, class trips, etc. I kind of feel too old to really enjoy this kind of place, I think. Not to mention, it ain't cheap. $800+ per credit hour and $500+ rent every month is no fun!
