Parents are stuck in the past where no individual was allowed to look different because then it brought shame to the family or it started riots or you were beat up for being different, unless you were really famous and starting a new trend, but then, you had to be in a really awesome band or something.

How you dress should be how you want to express yourself. I hate people that follow trends because they arent expressing themselves, they are expressing someone else. You should dress how you think you want to dress, wether that be a toga, or some really weird rainbow skirt. Its who you are and people shouldn't want to change that. And you shouldnt listen to them as long as you dont look like a 2$ whore. Then again if you want to look like a 2$ whore its all up to you.

People shouldnt care about other people's opinion. Life is all about individualism.
