The room was dark, and empty, like he'd hoped, those vague shapes through the window proving to be desks after all. It does not, however, stay empty for as long as he'd have liked. Jean-Paul has only just rolled to his feet, momentum lost in his pause to open the window and go through, when the door is thrown open and a body flings itself in.

He moves on reflex, lunging forward, either hand to either wrist on the theory that if anybody's going to shoot anything at him, it'll probably be from there. But then his mind catches up with his body and though he doesn't pull back he doesn't try to follow the movement with anything, either.

All things considered, he had about twenty-nine in thirty chances for just who that body was to be a lot less in his favor.

"I need to see Kitty Pryde," he says, in urgent Quebecois. "Now. The Russians put bombs in us."

Kitty Pryde was completely and utterly oblivious to the tense, dramatic situation elsewhere in the mansion. The only tense and dramatic she was expecting tonight lay within the DVD in her hand - she was on her way to the living room for a marathon of Battlestar Galactica, in sweatpants and t-shirt and fuzzy blue slippers.

All of that, of course, changed the moment she heard footsteps behind her and turned with a grin to meet whoever it was. "Hey, Re--" The presence of the intimidatingly dressed stranger and (the alarmingly under-dressed) Remy's interrupting "We need your help" brought both greeting and grin to a halt.

"...okay? Huh? What? Who is that." New people occasionally came to Stanborough, that wasn't out of the ordinary. But they didn't come after sunset dressed like... like a soldier. Kitty was confused, distrustful, suspicious, and trying so very much to not be scared as well.

Remy took a step back, still slightly out of breath. Without sunglasses to hide his eyes, shirt to hide his build and ease to hide his fears, the Cajun looked fiercely cold: without warmth. He surveyed Jubilee dispassionately, apparently unaffected by her hurt tone. After JP's announcement and retreat, he directed his attention at Kitty. "Thank you, Kitty." His voice, at least, had some feeling, even without his usual roguish accent. "Find de girl Marie. Tell her. I go wit' him."

The ruby eyes glinted once in Jubilee's direction, and then he was turning and striding after the tall Canadian. He turned the corner and was gone.
