So.

This is my read/watched list for this (academic) year:

This is my (partial) to-read list:

I sorted them into read/unread to motivate me to read more but instead it's a little more daunting. I think it's worse that my 'to-read' is missing all the government reports I need for my exam + the books that haven't arrived yet.

One of the writers for Modern Family is coming to KU to give a talk, so obviously I am trying to get in on that. My friend who is in the course the guy is from is coming over tomorrow to watch MF so I will ask him to sneak me in and idk wave and coo at the writer from afar/possibly try to sneak into their suitcase idk.

Last Thursday we went to a talk on oil and politics in Iraq which has left me feeling definitely...well, I don't know how to think. Depressed, I guess. I've never really believed in the idea of a pure and conscious evil, but learning more about the war has left me questioning that.

Then we went to a poetry reading by the (now former, she quit her job just as the reading finished) head of one of the big poetry journals in Britain. It was- idk how to feel about poetry that I'm not reading in my head, but I liked it well enough. The guy who organised it was my Contemporary American Lit prof from last term and he invited me and my friend to come drinking with him, the poet and the MA/MFA students. So we did! He made fun of my exam ("it took me two weeks to mark her exam. I started crying half way through"), gave me ideas for rejigging the script for 'Game' and told me to refilm it. So that is what I am doing!

We also nerded about 30 Rock and Arrested Development which was awesome.

gosh i am tired, yay stuff
