I currently live in the shadow of an ancient volcano that created the island I'm on, Moorea. My house is about 10 feet from a tropical lagoon, a three-minute boat ride away from an incredible reef. I saw way more fish in our snorkel today that I have seen in my entire diving career in New England. I wish I could share pictures with you.

the french influence is so strong here! we have bagettes and brie with like every meal and everyone speaks a strange combination of french and tahitian. and the french navy was docked in the lagoon when i went out for an afternoon snorkel with jocelyn... topless! ;)
