Remix Redux 09: Recs!

Jul 23, 2009 12:42

I've been reading some of the wonderful stories in this year's remixredux09. My only complaint is that there are so many of them that I'm sure I'm missing out on some gems. But so far in my reading I've come across some lovely stories that you should all read. Go and give these authors some love, because they deserve it ( Read more... )

i actually read that Martha/Donna fic *GASPS OF HORROR* and found it absolutely genius. it is my favourite of what i've read so far (& i've been busy and i've read very few yet) and i have my theories about who wrote it too lol, it is stunning and somehow made me angry it was Martha/Donna? because i cannot fully love it in my heart as i properly need to. damnit.

i enjoyed the remix of "ten synonyms for sensational" a lot as well.

for some reason now i'm stuck reading the supernatural entries, how odd.

Ahahaha. Well, you never know, this might be your gateway into accepting Donna. :D (They bond in the light of the crapness of Ten. :P)

Huh. Do tell me if any of the Supernatural stories are must-read? I'm reading a random selection of Angel/Buffy and Firefly. Joss Whedon day today, it seems.

it is a great fic. it is not capable of miracles ha ha.

i have a hard time judging the Supernatural stories when it comes to characterization cause i haven't seen the show in ages. sometimes my mind thinks is reading original fiction or something XD

the Whedon-related fic is next. if BSG doesn't distract me first.

If Time Lords had children's stories, this is exactly what they would be like.

*victory dance* XD

I can now finally say, thank you for mentioning my fic (No Pray'r Accepted). You were spot on with your criticism, and I appreciate the mention, so thank you!

Ahahaha. I CAN HIDE NOTHING FROM YOU.

I am so glad you liked it, though honestly, I didn't think it was that good. (Rather clunky, in fact.) But thank you for that absolutely magnificent rec! It's always so much fun, hearing other people describe your work, seeing what made it click for them.

My dear, you know I love you, but you're crazy. It really wasn't clunky-- more layered and shifting. The slightly piecemeal style really worked for me. At the moment I'm not sure whether this or your River/Doctor/SGA story is my favourite of all your stuff. But yes, it was very you, and I enjoyed it-- so am glad to spread it around. You deserve much lovely fb. <3.

Perhaps. Such is the curse of the artist, after all - equal parts love and loathing for any creation, because yes, it might be good, but it can always be better. Though, really, you're right, I know you are. I need to learn to shut my damned mouth and take praise as its given. Okay, I shall try again:

YES I DO NEED MORE FEEDBACK. IT IS AWESOME, AS AM I.

There. I suppose that wasn't so hard.

On a slightly more depressing sidenote: I just finished Children of Earth. As you can see, I am a little bit - in shock. Because, oh god, no. It's too early to tell - probably - but weirdly enough, I get the sense that I liked it, and that's perhaps the most shocking thing about the whole affair. Like, it was good television. But it was bad. I AM SO CONFUSED.
