If you have not read it, go find Maria McCann's "As Meat Loves Salt". It is amazing. Levelers struggling with love in the Civil War.

And oooh, have not read that, will definitely keep my eye out for it. The Levellers and Ranters and non-denominational offshoots of the period are absolutely fascinating.

it was way cheaper in Africa, actually. and believe me, luxurious as the miniseries look, money is not something they had tons of. they had enough trouble filming in Africa as it is (ie. the wind).
i read "as meat loves salt" last week (i'm reading every book on that particular period, fiction and not fiction) and it was quite interesting, yes.

apart from the fact that i'm just SQUEEful about you watching and liking the miniseries - well, you know how much the whole story means to me, considering i'm writing a novel on the subject XD
EEEEEEEEEEE EDWARD/ANGELICA. these two kill me. you've captured exactly why i love them so much. your Edward is so so perfect.
Edward has never believed in anything except the steel of his own blade, so it's not a mistake when he tells Angelica that her love for him feels like that: sharp blades twisting into his flesh, pressing under the skin and pushing the blood outwards.
GOD YES. and the scars for comparsion. and thinking of Angelica as physical objects. guh.
this is like every The Devil's Whore fic i have ever written all into one and you know, double the awesomeness. seriously, i not only love the way the ficlet is written but i agree 200% on your take of the characters and relationship.
And despite the pistol he cradles gently in his mouth, it ends in love; he's glad enough to ( ... )
