Virginia Tech killings

Apr 18, 2007 14:15

From the Age.com.Au:

Cho Seung-Hui walked into a Virginia gun shop five weeks ago, put down a credit card and walked out with a Glock 19 handgun and a box of ammunition. He paid $US571 ($687).

And that is just how easy America makes it for you to then become a mass murderer.

Indeed, it is just sick to see how any mentally unstable person can walk into a shop there and get a gun.

And yet they still don't want to change their gun laws.....

hello missy, nice to know you are still alive too! ;-)

That's an interesting point you are making. Having grown up in countries where it is illegal to own a gun, the American gunlaws are very alien to me. The thought that anyone can just walk into a shop and buy one (with a liscence) is something I find rather scary. Hence why I'm against it.

It is, a little. But there are some restrictions. It's only a certain type; for most, there's a 30-day waiting period so they can do a background check. And you can't buy more than one at a time (looks suspicious). There're safeguards...it's just hard to safeguard against crazy. ;)
