Things I Hate, Part 3

Aug 11, 2009 20:39

I hate it when people verablly abbreviate 2010 as "Oh-Ten."

I understand "Oh-Nine" for 09', as there is a zero in front of the nine. There is no zero in front of the number 10'.

Argh.

Look at the year again. There clearly is a 0 in front of the 10.

My point 77south, is that when you are verbally abbreviating 2009, you do not say "0h Oh nine" or "0-0-9." There is also clearly a zero in front of the 09 here, but no one pronounces it.

So why then, would they pronounce the zero in front of the 10?

YES! We name our software versions by the release year so people have been saying oh-ten or oh-eleven for the next one. Annoying!
