How was Atonement? Did/will you see the film?

The book was wonderful, simply one of the most concientiously pieces of modern fiction I've read in quite a while. Haven't seen the movie yet, but am planning to which was why I read the book, but I'm now slightly apprehensive. I've been waiting for the movie since the first trailer, but I don't know how I it can possibly stand up to the book without constant internal monologue, but it looked absolutely gorgeous so we shall see.
