Twelfth Test: Cycle Four, Month 1, Day 6 - We'll Never Sleep, though god knows we try

Jun 30, 2009 18:48

[You don't really need the thought bubble above Anko's head to let everyone know she's unhappy as she tosses and turns in her little alcove of a bed. She's not asleep. Being asleep would be preferrable at this point but, after crashing hard for a couple of days to sleep off the weirdness of the hallucinations and the fact that they'd reset again, ( Read more... )

[Such a curiously random question is answered with a curiously awkward look.]

And why, exactly, would you want to know?

[Shhh we're not all freaks who hate sleep like you, Itachi. She frowns because she like her sleep, nightmares or no.]

To find out if it's being used, of course.

[He likes his personal space, even if he's not using it. Call it greed Anko, he could care less. His look is unchanging.]

Are you planning to use it yourself?

Yes.

Hey, if you're not, someone might as well. And at least you know I won't murder you on the offchance you actually sleep at all.

....that's pretty damn odd. [referring to the bubble, of course.

it's about that point that is own appears, which...basically shows Anko's thought bubble]

[Okay, yeah, she's gonna assume that bubble there is what you mean and, yep, she looks up to find she's got one too.]

Curious, hm? Though it'll be hard as hell to lie about what you're thinking about.

Huh. Unless you tried to just think about one thing, all the time, until this magically goes away.

Yeah, but even I don't think I know anyone that good. And I haven't found anyone yet who can control their dreams.

Was the black hole supposed to take our memories?

[She's now imagining... a complicated-looking device that probably resembles a toilet-plunger attached to someone's head, arising out of a black hole.]

[Anko's own bubbles goes to a question mark.]

Uh, yeah. Something like that. It's just every single other time this has happened, we've woken up not knowing what happened the night before. Now we do, and it's still really fucking confusing.

Ah... that's right.

[There's a brief flash of a chain splitting into a thousand slender chains before Orihime's thoughts focus on the black hole again, yawning deep.]

The captain's last words before everything... He said that there was a way to explain it all, didn't he? Maybe the answer's still on the ship somewhere.

Maybe.

[Anko's own bubble image is a curious one--the holodeck maybe? Or where one programs for the holodeck, anyway, but this too spins out to a black hole]

Every other time, the ship itself reset as well. Belongings, data, everything. But things are different this time. Maybe there is something left this time.

The trouble is...what?

It would seem that everyone is affected by those accursed things.

[He glances in the general direction of where his thought bubble should be. It shows an annoyed face.]

As usual. Though, as long as some of us learn a little control and restraint...

[Yeah, her thought bubble is...handcuffs. Don't mind those.,/i>]

We should get through this malfunction without too much insanity, hm?

I'm sure that some of us can. [His thought bubble flickers through himself, Anko and other's that he thinks can control themselves.]

However, I have less faith in the general population of this ship. [His thought bubble now shows a big red X.]

A little craziness can be fun though, I think.

Think of it as a chance to find such things out, hm?
