Reading week is here at last *does a happy dance*
But unfortunately, I do actually have to do some reading for it. My goal is to try  and do a book blitz and finish all six books of Proust's In Search of Lost time. Bizarrely my reading speed has increased dramatically of late (I can only assume because I have to read so darned much), so I just might ( Read more... )

Dear aqsa, please share the place where you got the jewellery. I had to think for like a minute to finish that sentence. My brain has fallen down.

Glad to hear your kitten is doing well. Have you considered replacing her collar with an Elizabethean ruff and taking pictures of her?

I have now changed the topic of my dissertation to time in watchmen and the women in white. Isn't that marvellous? I'm sad I'm missing Ugly Betty, but I just can't sit downstairs in case my housemates attempt to speak to me. Bah.

I got it off of Etsy, from a seller called adorapop. It's easy to find if you google. It's pretty inexpensive and cute, but takes aaages to arrive.

I think the poor mite has been humiliated enough without me taking pics of her in all her indignity. She's damned cute though, I will post some pictures at some point.
Oooh nice dissertation topic. Do you mean the Wilkie Collins? Or is there some graphic novel out there with the same name? I've done a bit on time and memory, from a Bergsonion/psychological perspective, I did an essay looking at time in Swann's Way and Mrs Dalloway in my second year. What's your angle?

Has there been complete radio silence from the roommates since The Incident?

There has been vocal radio silence. They did place a small (VERY small) box of Roses in my cupboard, along with a note "apologising" which didn't actually say anything. It was basically "This has gone on long enough. Let's be friends." Rather than "Sorry for being bastards". This has now been removed from my cupboard, and presumably been eaten ( ... )

That's an interesting stance to take. I think there might be some anti-graphic novelites out there who might find a way to disagree with you, but I quite like what you're saying.

I've had grey hair since I was about 14. I have to dye my hair every month. So forgive my lack of sympathy with you.
I saw Dreamgirls yesterday in lieu of Hot Fuzz.
It was a bad idea, and I am filled with much regret.
