I really don't want to give Rowand a five year contract but if it means he'll stay, I'd be fine with it. About the contracts Aaron's agent brought up, the only one that really means anything is Utley's(but he's awesome and deserves it and we don't have to worry about him running into walls). Pat's & Jimmy's were done in the Wade era. They were also a lot younger than Aaron is.

I don't think I'd hate giving A-Row a 5 year deal, it probably looks like a lot now because of Pat's fat contract, maybe once he's gone, it won't look so bad, signing A-Row for X amount/5 years, no?
And if Aaron's contract doesn't have the stipulations that Pat's has, that couldn't be too bad either, I'd suppose. I don't know. I guess because of how far we got last year, and how little we've done this offseason, my kneejerk reaction is to do whatever it takes to bring A-Row back, and I can't imagine us doing as well as we did without him. :( /blathers
