Silly Names

This is a TRUE story. Somewhere out there is a little girl running around and her name is...

La-a.

Who wants to take a stab at the pronunciation? The actual pronunciation may surprise you.

"Ohh! Girl! That ain't a silent dash. It's LaDasha!"

That was the Mom's response when the name was pronounced La-ah!

La-dash-uh

I've seen this one before! My mom used to be a nurse in the NICU and saw some crazy names come around!

Jennifer Pumpkin (fn, mn)
Benjamin Alarm Clark (fn, mn, ln..."Alarm Clark", get it?)
Obligatory b/g twins Harley(g) and Dadvidson(b)
Shithad (prn. Shi-thodd) which is only ONE letter off from "shit head"!

Where is your Mom a nurse at?

I was told Shithad (although they spelled it, Shithede) by the same person who told me La-a. They got both the names from a NICU nurse in Chicago!

OMG at Alarm Clark. Although I do have a friend here with a daughter named Olivia Snow White.

New Orleans. I am sure more than a few babies ended up with that gem. She even has a blurry snapshot of the name tag on the baby's isolette. I think the family was planning to call him but his middle name, "Semaj" which was his father's name, "James" spelled backwards. Or maybe his middle name was "Shithad." Idk...but I remember those two names were together.

OMG, my bff's mother worked in a daycare where they had a La-a. When she asked her how to pronounce it, she said, "La Dash-A, the dash don't be silent!" I thought that was a one of a kind name!
