Does anyone use yaz or yasmin? Or could anyone recommend a birth control pill? It's been so long since I've actually used them that I am out of the loop. I've been reading up and all the side effects seem the same!
My friend's sister was on yazmin and have a pretty horrific medical trauma she thinks is related to it. I don't know the details of what happened, but she basically can't take care of herself at all anymore. She still has her wits about her, but talking is unintelligible, and she really can't get around at all anymore- even needs help getting to the bathroom. I've heard nothing but good things about Mirena IUD.
Thanks! I'm definitely ruling out yazmin. I haven't heard one positive thing about it. I can't believe what happened to your friend's sister. That is just terrible! I hope, if they are able to prove it was caused by yazmin, that they sue!
I've heard great things about mirena as well, but my husband and I are still up in the air about when we will start TTC again, so I don't really want to spend so much on something I might have taken out in a few months.
Mirena IUD, no doubt about it. It's been the only birth control that hasn't given me horrible side effects. I actually haven't had any side effects other than not having a period the whole time (since January 09) I've had it, which is a plus to me. And I don't ever even have to think about it. No hassle birth control, what could be better?!
It's all about finding what works for you. For example, the Depo shot made most of my friends crazy (or fat, or even lose some of their hair) but I know two people who love it and wouldn't want anything else. The Pill worked for me for the nine years I was on it, but the Ortho Tricyclen Lo sucked ass, made me all crazy, and made me have two periods per month. Everyone's body is different. Personally, though, I'd stay away from Yaz... I've heard some really awful things. :/
