[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Tiny Feet of the Divine Dance of Joyous Orgasm. Alias: Joy.
Age: Age unknown. Appears to be in her early 20s.
Gender: female
Fandom: Lamb the Gospel according to Biff, Christ’s childhood pal. Book by Christopher Moore.
Timeline: During the time skip where she leaves Balthasar’s and makes life in Kabul.
History: The book is an incredibly obscure piece of modern literature but, the book is a satirical chronicle of the life of Jesus Christ: the early years. While the bible chronicles his birth and his teachings after his thirtieth birthday, the time in between has severely been lacking. And his best friend Levi, who is sometimes called Biff, has been given the task to chronicle those years.
Because he was there for every sacrilegious, bacon filled moment.
We don’t meet Joy until the year 14 when Jesus (called Joshua in the book) and Biff go on the task to find the three wise men and their search leads them to the outskirts of Kabul, home of one wise man named Balthasar. To prevent himself from falling in love, Balthasar has 8 Chinese concubines, each one more beautiful than the last no matter what order you put them in. Their names are
Tiny Feet of the Divine Dance of Joyous Orgasm
Beautiful Gate of Heavenly Moisture Number Six
Temptress of the Golden Light of the Harvest Moon,
Delicate Personage of Two Fu Dogs Wrestling Under a Blanket,
Feminine Keeper of the Three Tunnels of Excessive Friendliness,
Silken Pillows of the Heavenly Softness of Clouds,
Pea Pods in Duck Sauce with Crispy Noodle,
And Sue.
Biff and Joshua had given her the nickname Joy because of the length of her full name was annoying in English and saying it in Chinese ‘sounds like someone threw a bag of silverware down a flight of stairs.’ Plus any other shortenings of her name (Tiny Feet, Divine Dance, and Orgasm) weren’t the most pleasant when being said by 14-year-old boys. Joy was the only thing she wasn’t opposed to.
While Balthasar took the ‘Son of God’ Joshua under his wing to teach him about the old spiritual religion of Taoism, Joy was in charge of teaching Biff, the guy who was just tagging along. He learned what Joy was taught from Balthasar, potions and alchemy to find ways to cheat death. Surprisingly, Balthasar was 260 years old and believed that Joshua will help him find a way to live forever but until then, Balthasar was simply finding ways to avoid it. Joy and the other concubines were used to assist him in becoming immortal and shared his secrets but Balthasar didn’t teach her all the tricks though, only the ones on the surface of alchemy where she knows how to poison people and blow stuff up.
Three years passed since Biff and Joshua first arrived and Joy had got closer to Biff over time, she even taught him her native language of Chinese. Together, they conspired that when Joshua and Balthasar had left, the two of them would open the secret door that Balthasar had forbidden anyone from entering. What they found out was Balthasar had captured a demon from hell and forced a bond so, as long as the demon was in the mortal world (trapped in that room they just let him out of) Balthasar would be unable to die. However, once releasing the demon, who they found out was named Catch, that night they were chased all around the castle and the other 7 concubines were beheaded by the giant demons claws and teeth. Catch had every intention to kill them both and, if it weren’t for Josh’s return and banishing the demon back to hell, they wouldn’t have survived.
With Catch no longer in the mortal world, Balthasar started to age rapidly to catch up to his 260 years and eventually died (somewhere in the 110s area). This left Joshua and Biff without a reason to be there anymore without a teacher so, six months later, they went to India to find the next of the three wise men, leaving Joy on her own. Haunted with the massive place and being with the only one left, she carried what she could of Balthasar’s possessions and waiting for a trader’s caravan to pass by and take her away to the city. There, she could buy a home where the merchants could bring her a few boys to corrupt.
Character Personality: Considered the most sophisticated of the concubines with her polite yet confident veneer, Joy has a bit of a mixed personality depending on her comfort level. At the core of it, she is confident to the point of arrogance, bossy and finds childish glee in the suffering of others; especially that of the people she has authority over. But this confidence is only available to her when she is comfortable with her surroundings and the people she is with. Until you get to know her well, this personality is somewhat hidden behind awkwardness and a haughty remark.
While she served under Balthasar, she tends to take his orders with a grain of salt and does things according to her own whims. When he ordered her to not leave Biff paralysed, something she did on her own accord to begin with, she took her time in reversing the process because she wanted him to ‘learn his lesson.’ She actually preferred him paralysed because he didn’t ask stupid questions and was forced to listen to her lectures on teaching him how to read Chinese. She always carries the poison with her around her neck in a Ying yang shaped pendant, one side holding the poison while the other holds the antidote.
Because Balthasar was her teacher, she also shared his beliefs of Taoism but not the same extent that he did. Some parts of the practice, such as the art of furniture arranging known as feng shui, were not her forte. However, despite the lack of skill in that particular craft, over the years living in the mountain palace, she gained incredible knowledge from Balthasar’s teachings. She knew two languages (Latin and Chinese), knew magic and alchemy to the point where she could be considered a sorceress herself, was able to read and decipher ancient Chinese texts and, from being a concubine, had a few hundred years worth of sex tips. It was everything she needed to survive in case she was out on her own and didn’t have a penny to her name.
If she knew what she wanted, she will do her damnedest to get it and, most of the time, it was through either offering herself for sex or a serious threat. She boasts knowing over a thousand ways to pleasure a man and she had some authority over the other girls so she could use them as well to get what she wanted. Even though her loyalties were to her Master, far more loyal compared to the other girls, when she thought Biff was aware of knowledge that she was interested in, she offered herself and the other girls to him, despite that Biff was simply a guest (and was lying.) Biff didn’t come through with any real knowledge in the end, but she ended up agreeing to months of, in the words of Biff, ‘outrageous knob polishing by the beauteous Joy and her comely minions.’ However, despite the sex, just like how she lacks spirituality, she also lacks a sense of romance. She didn’t care about sleeping with Biff despite her direct connection to Balthasar and even then, she didn’t love Balthasar because she knew he couldn’t do the same, hence the 8 concubines in rotation to prevent him from getting too close to one of them emotionally. To her, it was a job.
She has always been more dominating among the other girls she knew and it was clear that she was the one who was making many of the commands and taking charge, despite her small stature and tiny feet. Biff even refers to her as the bull in the herd. She can be very abrupt and when faced with idle chit chat, most of the time she’s not in the mood for it unless she was the one initiating the conversation and would ignore the questions of others if they are deemed stupid to her. Goading her is also a bad idea because she fails to acknowledge her more awkward tendencies when it comes to unfamiliar surroundings. She only works well with new people if she knows that she has authority over them compared to if she were to go into a town, she would be forced to ask for things instead of demanding for them, which is something she doesn’t know how to do properly. She once tried to ask blind men if they had seen another blind man and didn’t understand why they were angry with her for asking and she refused to acknowledge her mistake when Biff and Joshua had said to ask people who can see. Annoying her could result in being poisoned with something that there is no known antidote for. While she doesn’t have a short temper, being insulted will result in payback from her with whatever means available and will insist that what she had done was in the right. She pissed out a window on a demon’s head as a means of insult but then insisted afterwards that he shouldn’t have complained because there are people who would pay good money for that.
Character Abilities: While possessing no supernatural abilities per say, Joy is wise in her years because, when living in a remote mountain, there’s not much else to do but learn and she excelled in exact measurements, her mind trained in science, math and cooking Chinese food. She taught Biff about spells and alchemy because her master’s obsession with immortality forced her to learn them for herself. It’s not specifically said if she also used these methods of immortality for herself as well but, it’s highly suspected when Biff noted she didn’t look like she aged a day after 9 years of separation. Joy also knows very basic self-defence from what we see of her fighting but her strength seems to be from her quick reflexes and knowing pressure points instead of her actual physical strength.
Character Weaknesses: Joy looks like a porcelain doll, appearing small and fragile and, if she had ever stepped outside in the sun once, it doesn’t show on her face. While compared to the other concubines, she is far more headstrong and confident, but if you take her out of her usual atmosphere, her confidence and composure will quickly vanish. She also is hard on herself when it comes to feng sui, lacking confidence in it and will resort to hiding and crying when told she had performed that wrong. It was the one thing that Balthasar taught her that she was unable to do correctly because to her, it just made no sense despite she tries very hard to get it right, showing her logical mind doesn’t exactly extend to things up to interpretation (poetry, art, etc.) Telling her she’s wrong in anything else however will result in a glare, a slap on the head and a threat of poisoning.
Also in game, along with her non-existent confidence in the beginning of the game, she’s being taken from the year 17. Just 17. Many things, such as technology, will be new and scary to her and she will not understand any of it if it doesn’t make logical sense to her. This may also affect my first person sample
[ SOUL CAMPAIGN SECTION ]
What are the abilities that your character will retain in Soul Campaign? She has no powers to speak of and everything she has is learned knowledge. I believe she would keep all of what she learned but, without the same familiar ingredients, she wouldn’t be able to do much with her knowledge. The ingredients are considered old medicine that likely isn’t around anymore due to dangers and impracticality discovered through modern medicine (extracting mercury from cinnabar bricks, dehydrated lizards, etc.)
What are the weaknesses that your character will lose or gain in Soul Campaign? I think those would stay as well. Because she is in a new area without knowledge of anything, at first, she will lose all confidence but it will come back slowly once she gets used to her surroundings/establishes dominance over some people.
[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Meister: I don’t think it’s because she has a strong personality but because she has an arrogant one. She is used to being in charge out of the group of concubines and, despite she was also one of Balthasar’s ‘servants,’ she was almost on par with him during that time and after his death, takes over the role he had as a fearsome sorceress. Despite a weapon and a Meister are partners, she would be in the mindset that the term of ‘weapon’ would insinuate her simply being a tool to further another’s goals. From the point I’m taking her from, that part of her life is behind her and she’s leaning towards becoming the one in charge more in her own life, be feared and be greatly empowered from it. Being a Meister would work towards her goals and what she wants in her life, even though Meister's aren’t actually better than weapons are. Her thinking it and believing it to be true would be enough for her because, at the beginning where she’s unsure of what is going on, she demands to have some authority over something or someone. Her being labelled as a weapon would simply break her down further.
Meister Ability: Soul Paralyse, Calming Wavelength, and Soul Leader.

[ SAMPLES ]
First Person: [A person from the year 17 in a strange place with technology in front of her. No, she doesn’t know what to do with it. No, she doesn’t necessarily care either to find out what it is for. It was given to her and she had to assume it was some sort of gift given to her as a welcome to this strange place. A strange land, one would expect the gift to be strange as well.
And she has it upside down and focused over her head so there’s a bit of black hair poking out at the top and mostly a wall.]
If there is anyone out there with the slightest understanding of this place, I wish to go back to where I have been taken from. I have no desire to learn in useless things nor do I wish to work for less than what is worth for a bag of shrivelled newts.
If the reason for my being in this place is for a meaningless fight, if I were to not get myself involved, would that be enough reason to send me back? I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
Third Person: Watching the two boys leave across the stretch of desert on their way towards the east, the now former concubine stood waiting. Did she want to stay here, be forced to remember guilt of releasing the demon Catch?
Absolutely not.
But time alone waiting will give her some time to herself to grieve properly without the distraction of the Boy-who-would-be-Messiah and his debaucherous, simple-minded friend. There was no point in tagging along and following these two young boys while they go into a temple where women were not welcome and the only place she could live and wait for them is a snow covered town with more yak than people.
Not only was that the least appealing idea, she hated yak. They were such vile creatures, left their excrements all along the beaten path and their milk was full of hair and tasted sour to her lips.
Covering her face with the loose end of the turban, Joy crossed her legs and sat against the sandstone entrance of what once was her home, with her own thoughts and a bag full of books and gold. This was better. The loneliness of the moment would be fine because there was something better ahead, thanks to the wealth she was clinging to.
A heavy gust of sand picked up, forcing her to shield her eyes and cover herself further, curling her legs to her chest. Without her sight she could still hear the wind whipping her loose clothes and the feel of coarse sand beat against her body and burning any exposed skin it touched.
Waiting till the wind subsided, Joy finally opened her bleary eyes, blinking to get focus and noticed how much darker it seemed to be, that there was no wind and that she no longer seemed to be in the desert anymore. Sand fell off her body as she moved, hands grasping at the stone floor and her head darting back and forth as she tried to find something familiar. But there was nothing.
Her eyes widened a fraction as she looked at the ground around her to see only the sparse grains of sand contrasting sharply against the dark stone.
“Where is my gold?!”
