Relationships: Exes as Facebook friends

In continuing with my "relationships" theme of my last post, I had another topic come to me at random.  This isn't really related to a specific circumstance happening right now with anyone I know, but it's something that's always been at the back of my mind:

Why do exes stay friends on Facebook?

From what I can tell, there are many different reasons

This has made my brain turn back into a solid (just a little bit). I have felt very brain-melty of late and feeling in decline (forgetting words, spellings of words, common sense and hygiene all declining -- I'm turning into an invalid!) The decline may also be because I have spent the last three days watching Grey's Anatomy since Dilshan got really into it and we bought several seasons and are now purging them... all day... everyday.

Excellent writing and contemplation. I shall attempt to think more on this.
