"Cause you wanna live forever in the lights you make."
Party Poison | Gerard Way |
poisonousparty Ran away when he was a teenager with his brother, Kobra Kid, when Kobra stopped taking the medication. Found nearly starving by Dr. Death Defying, brought in and schooled on what's really going on in Battery City. Quickest shot in the desert wastes. He's become the unofficial 'leader' of his crew, though he doesn't really see a need for one. He feels responsible for everyone, and the desert's done a number on his head as a result, making him pretty paranoid. Codependent on others, and is the only one able to calm Kobra down when his temper gets to a certain level.
Kobra Kid | Mikey Way |
goodluck_kobra Diagnosed with bipolar and put on medication by BL/nd. Ran away with his brother once he stopped taking it. Practically grew up in the Zones. Has a temper hotter than the Ladyjoys from Zone 3. Prone to mood-swings. Martial arts expert and techno geek, expert hacker. There is no system that Kobra Kid can't manipulate, it's just a question of how much time he'll need. Enchanted by music. Fiercely loyal and willing to do anything to protect his family. Is hardly ever seen without his sunglasses because his eyes are sensitive to light after eye surgery. Not the brother giving the elaborate speeches but the one watching and waiting in the background.
Jet Star | Ray Toro |
j3t_st4r Calm. Voice of reason. Unofficial medic. Army engineer.
Fun Ghoul | Frank Iero |
funsaghoul Fled to the Zones when he was a teenager to avoid being ratted out to the Draculoids by his mother, Ghoul was taken in by a gang of motorbabies who helped him find his gun and decide on his name. When a raid went bad he ended up traveling the Zones alone, before running into the Killjoys. Since then he’s become their demolition guy and also the unofficial babysitter for Grace. He’s a wild card that’s undoubtedly a smart ass, but Ghoul just likes to think that’s part of his charm. A chain smoker, at first he might seem a little aggressive and paranoid- but that’s all just part of living in the Zones. Deep down he’s fiercely protective and a fun guy, but you’ll have to prove you’re not out to get him before you see that side of him. (NOTE: Most of ghoul's life before their group is pure head-canon.)
Grace
Their little girl. Doesn't yet have a killjoy name. Brought into the wastes by her mom and brother, who traveled with Party and Kobra before he was murdered. Bubbly and enthusiastic, she acts as a bit of a moral chain to the guys who raise her. She's much smarter than she looks and has proven herself quite capable with fighting when the need arises. Better Living Industries is after her for an undetermined reason. (NOTE: Grace's brother is head-canon, based on pure speculation and the dead body in the Na Na Na video where we see Party Korse in the hotel room.)
Dr. Death Defying | Steve Montano
Revered among the wastes, which is ironic for someone who was once a college drop out / convenience store employee before everything went down. An Original Killjoy, he lost the use of his legs during a raid on Battery City's prison system. He works with transmissions now, encouraging Killjoys of all kinds to create, be it music or art or plays. Also the keeper of the vast majority of music that they can find, and in between broadcasting news and warnings and playing albums, he spends the vast majority trying to boost the morale of the other dust angels out there. Pretty much the only source of news and information out in the zones.
Show Pony | Ricky Rebel
A runner. He rollerblades along the zones with news, or letters to drop into the mailbox, but mainly music. Dr. Death Defying's right-hand man, helping him around when he needs to. Always optimistic, he prefers to talk it out but he's been known to pull his zapper on anyone that looks like they could compromise Dr. D's work.
DJ Hot Chimp | Kristan Morrison
One of the Original Killjoys. A fellow DJ proficient in driving, she lives with the Ladies of Zone 3. Has been raiding with Dr. Death Defying for a very, very long time. (NOTE: Zone 3, again, is pure head-canon.)
Agent Cherri Cola | James Euringer |
colacherri Friends with Dr. Death Defying before the Helium Wars and the last Original Killjoy, Cherri needed to make a quick buck and found himself a volunteer test subject for Better Living Industries' new line of medication. When the disasters DID strike, he found himself unwillingly locked in a prison as a test-subject for all of BL/ind.'s new meds. Suffice to say, when Dr. Death Defying and DJ Hot Chimp rescued him, he was more than a little crazy. Wanders the wastes collecting things, and seems to be close with only Dr. D and News a GoGo. (NOTE: Asides from the pb, all of this is purely fictionalized.)
News a GoGo | Chantal Claret
A guidance counselor in training, she woke up and now hovers around Zone 1, monitoring Drac activity for the good of the rest of the Killjoys. Sweet and kind, she's taken quite a liking to Cherri Cola and seems to be the only one that can see past his frayed exterior. If not together, the two are often chatting on the waves. (NOTE: As Cherri and News are rather close, as shown by their twitters, we feel it's safe to assume that she would be played by Cherri's real-life wife.)
Tommy Chow Mein | real name unknown
Somebody's got to do the dirty work, and it's normally Tommy. He owns a hotel in Zone 1, where the vast majority of trading takes place. If you're lucky, he might even have some coffee he'll share with you, but everything comes with a price.
