I don't like the term 'dirt'

Hey Gang :) I know it's been a while, I've been busy at work, so I don't have a lot of time for updating. I went to see The Lovely Bones last night, so be ready for a review :)

The Lovely Bones

The story is based on the novel by Alice Sebold about a girl who is murdered and she watches as her family falls apart trying to find out what happened to her. I believe the murder occurs early in the book, so I'm not ruining much giving that away. It's even in the trailers. Anyway, she mistakenly trusts a neighbour who's been watching her and takes a liking to her, in a way that is not appropriate.

She follows him someplace and he does things to her that are in the book, but not the movie and I'm quite thankful for that. The movie flowed in a jerking manner between the girl's state in death and her family's spiral from despair into anguish and finally triumph. The concept was very cool, the girl living through her death and trying to figure out how she could help her family. The family was very sad after the death and it fell apart in a very 'typical' manner after a tragedy like that.

The movie was amazing in it's scope, but the story it told felt incomplete, and it stalled at the end. I don't want to give away more than I should, it was a good movie. I'm glad I saw it, but I expected more from it, if that makes sense.

Everyone keeps saying I should see Avatar and that's making me not want to see it...it's also snowing like crazy here, so...yeah...I put in a few new icons - am hoping I get my Haiti icons in the next month or so :) hope everyone's having a nice weekend!
