I don't really have much to report - I'm not doing much this week, new job Monday, finished The Magicians a couple days ago...
The Magicians
This book was recommended to me because it is a cross between HP and Narnia - and while that is true...it was painful to get through. The writing was decent enough, the characters were compelling, but it's still not great. The main character had his flaws, as most do, but in the end, he made somewhat correct choices, and it still ended anticlimactically.
I think if you liked HP or Chronicles of Narnia and think this might interest you, give it a read...I can't even bring myself to provide a better synopsis - but basically, guy realises he's too good to be a regular person and it's true, he's a magician, he goes to school and learns stuff, doesn't really learn much in life lessons, after graduating, he does nothing with his life, gets some clue...epic journey...it was really a little absurd.
yeah...I have also been lacking in my sports updates...Caps/Giants - doing well, Michigan snapped it's losing streak...I have little else :) peace out kids :)
