I've managed to keep three blogs updated and my FB, but can barely get on here regularly...is that bad...I'll give you one blog, that's fair, right?
Orangey Ramblings - this one is me being random and inappropriate :) I finished How Clariss Burden Learned to Fly, watched The Rite and finished Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2
How Clarissa Burden Learned to Fly
I won't even do much of a synopsis here...I really skimmed most of it. This was not a well organised book, the story shifts from the main character, who is really hard to feel for, and these random ghosts, which don't really get tied together. Overall, a very underwhelming reading. I'd avoid this, even though her other book I read Before Women Had Wings, which is a great coming of age story. I'm not sure what it was about this one that turned me off, but I could hardly read it. Bleh
The Rite
Yet another underwhelming experience. While this movie had it's fair share of jumpy type moments, the overall story was really lacking. The basic premise is a rehashing of the original Exorcist, but with less meat and less pull, overall, well cast, really, even the young protagonist was good, but it just lacked something. I thought the movie was well shot, the scenes were really picturesque, but still not great...another pass.
Star Wars Force Unleashed 2
I'm reposting my review from
Gamespot - I have an account there and waste a lot of time there as well :)
Not a bad ride, for sure, but certainly not the best. I have a strange system of playing games in a particular order, this put the first and second game for this series only a few games apart. This made the game a lot easier to pick and go through.
The game is pretty short, and the story truly lacking in anything compelling. I think I ignored/glossed over most of the cut-scenes. I found the dialogue to be about on par of the rest of the SW movies, but overall, underwhelming. This was a fun game, sure, but was it memorable? Not in the least.
I think other things I've read about this game are about on par. What made the original so great was that it was unique, the first SW game of it's kinda that really truly captured what all the SW geeks out there love. In this one, it almost seemed like an add-on or an after-thought. There was little original or unique about it.
Having said that, I loved Mind Trick, the new ability Starkiller has, but at the same time, I found it effective only some of the time. I'd say, no, the price for this game is probably right, but if you shelled out the full price when it came out, like me, you're probably kicking yourself. A fun game, but very forgettable.
OK - I think I may have missed some birthdays, my total bad :s belated
