[This is Aurora forest, about a quarter mile south of the CMA: not far, but deep enough in the undergrowth that you'd have to know what direction to walk in order to find the camp that Courtney's made there. It's a good location. She can spy on the CMA, become familiar with the place, without worrying too much about anyone dangerous finding her. Especially since she doesn't know whether there's anyone she should be hiding from.
Not to mention that it's about as far away as she's physically able to get from the caves where Maxie found her.
It's been several days (four? five? -she hasn't been keeping track; unusual for her) since her arrival on the island, and she hasn't felt Kyogre at all since her confrontation with Maxie back in the caves where she first awoke. The episode in the caves was stronger than anything she'd experienced before, even at the battleground with Ruby, and now that the spirit of Kyogre's dormant again, it's simply unnerving. It feels like there should be something there, some kind of pain in the hand she held the orb with, but there's nothing except for her usual collection of minor injuries and the recent burn on her finger.
Ninetales is watching her carefully right now, like she might be a danger to herself, which isn't really all that unreasonably given her agitation lately - pacing, restless, unable to stay still in her own skin. Courtney has taken the horn from her hood and is staring pensively into the flickering images of the Flame of Memory. She's not really sure what she's looking for, exactly, but the thought of just sitting and doing nothing is unbearable. She absentmindedly digs her thumbnail into the burn on her finger, savoring the sensory overload of it, a faint agony that's almost sweet, until Ninetales firmly mouths her wrist and brings her back to awareness.]
