[And on the southern side of the island, there's a beach that faces Hoenn; come sunrise, that beach is not unoccupied - those familiar with the events that had taken place in the Hoenn region will probably recognize the long red hair, as well as that asymmetrical red-and-black pattern adorning his jacket.
For all intents and purposes, the Team Magma leader seems to have come here to reminisce.
He's standing close to the surf, but far enough from the incoming tide to be untouched by the waves for now; even from the back, he looks like he hasn't had the best go of it. His hair is disheveled, thick locks of it falling loosely about his face, and his clothes are in even worse shape - the left side of the jacket seems to have received the worst of it, the sleeve having been ripped away at the shoulder, and what remains of the place where it had been torn away has been completely shredded.
If you get close enough to him to see his face - and you probably can - he looks like he probably should be exhausted; the circles under his eyes run very, very dark, and he seems oddly distant from what's going on around him. So distant, in fact, that unless something is done to explicitly alert him to your presence, he doesn't even seem aware of the fact that he's not alone anymore...and even if he is, at least he doesn't seem to mind; for now he seems content to stand on the beach, eyes locked on the outline of Mt. Chimney in the distance.
And if, by chance, you are able to see his face, it becomes immediately obvious that there are two things very wrong with this picture.
The first is the dissonance between the unnatural stillness of his body and the almost manic look in his eyes.
The second is the fact that Maxie doesn't usually smile like that.
Apparently whatever he's seeing over there is making him very, very pleased...either that, or this is about to get very, very unpleasant for you.]
