[If there's one question Maxie isn't about to ask, it's why. He knows that this particular section of the island tends to have that effect on people - he that knows very well.
It's why he's here, after all.
Though he supposes he should be startled, the fact is that he isn't; hostility is another possible reaction, but really? There's not really much that registers outside of 'fucking finally'. Archie is here, and this one is familiar.
As it should be, really.
However, he's not about to go greet him personally; he'll stay on the beach, thank you.]
[[Oh, Archie recognizes that voice. He recognizes that voice very well. He doesn't turn, instead tilting his head downwards slightly, a hidden smile creeping across his features.]]
Forgive me for making you wait, Maxie.
[[He starts to trail his hands along the surface of the ocean, making soft circles in the water.]]
Is the car still in one piece, or did your embarrassing attempt at driving render it useless?
[Maxie shifts where he stands, drawing his left hand back to rest on his hip, darkly pleased at the lack of pain that accompanies the gesture. As fun though that constant reminder had been, those injuries have been healing very well.
Now that Archie's here, that's probably a rather good thing.]
I don't blame you for not knowing - I suppose screaming in terror is a bit distracting, hm?
At the same time, I can't say that I know, either. I didn't exactly wake up in its immediate vicinity, and I haven't seen it since.
[Glad to know that you think so, Archie; he does so enjoy making you work for anything you get.]
There's a bit of a downside to having someone else do all the thinking for you, isn't there? Let's see what conclusions you've drawn for yourself, first.
Clever. Unfortunately, no one has been able to give me any sort of satisfying answer when it comes to exactly where we are. The most I've gotten out of anyone is that it's some sort of alternate dimension, which is both the most idiotic theory I've heard and the one I'm most inclined to believe, given what I've seen so far.
If there is any way to leave here, no one's found it. At least not as far as I know.
[It's very claustrophobic, actually; he kind of hates it. But that's beside the point.]
We're obviously not the only ones here - this island has brought plenty of others. If it's going to keep us here, it's at least done the courtesy of providing some entertainment while we wait for it to do something interesting.
Heh. First of all, there are a few here that know what we've been up to...and quite a few others that have no idea. Take that as you will.
And of course, our Hoenn isn't the only place affected. This place pulls from multiple dimensions, apparently - and let's just say that I've met 'you' here already.

It's about time, Archie.

Anyone would be screaming with you at the wheel. I don't suppose you could at least tell me where we are?

[And he'll just leave that there, if you don't mind.]

I see you're still struggling with basic questions. Take your time if you need to think about it.

Well.
If Hoenn is there, and we are here, then it doesn't take much brainpower to work out that we're rather far from home, aren't we?

[[He'll just be staring at you for a moment Maxie, trying to work out whether or not you're serious.
Then a smile, before he turns back to the horizon.]]
You really can't drive.

I wouldn't say that it's my doing. Of course, if you want to think that I can manipulate time, I'm flattered. But I've been here for a month now.

[[He pauses, then, silent as he thinks.]]
...I take it that it's not possible to leave, then, considering you're still here.

...well. Sounds like you've been having quite a bit of fun here without me.
I take it you're going to share now, of course.
