WikiAffiliation: Trainer
Personality: Ion may not be the specialest of snowflakes, but by no means does that make him your average Joe, either. He is quiet and serene, yet confident in himself and others without being obnoxious about it. Normal, day-to-day interaction will find him calm and happy, if a little excitable. He's instantly friendly to most everyone he meets, and prefers lighthearted situations to serious ones. Anyone who has been friends with him long enough knows that he's a bit of a tease as well, and likes to playfully pick on those he is close to. He's just as quick to compliment, however, and has no problem letting others know how much he appreciates them. Just don't be fooled; he may look and act somewhat girly, but it is canon that girl-talk and other such situations still make him pretty uncomfortable, just like any normal boy his age. He really would rather talk about football, ladies. :|a
Being the leader and symbol of peace of the largest religious group in his world, Ion has made it his lifelong duty to use the position to ensure that meaningless wars and other such tragedies are prevented. He acts as a mediator between nations and is happy to do whatever he possibly can to help, even with something as lowly as delivering a letter. Maturity and social graces come pretty naturally to him; he knows how to tango with the elitist of elite without letting their often snobby attitudes rub off on him or anger him in any way. However, he can actually be somewhat naive when it comes to the intentions of people he doesn't know all that well. He knows how to doubt others, certainly, but is far more likely to give a stranger the benefit of the doubt due to having an unusually keen eye for those who are truly good and those who are not. Unfortunately for him, even truly good people are still capable of doing not so good things.
Ion didn't always have this abundance of self-confidence, and once truly believed that he could be easily replaced. The event that caused him to change was tragic, but it allowed him to finally put such thoughts to rest. From this he came to understand that all life has meaning, and your purpose is something you must discover or create for yourself. Bits of this older part of his personality still linger- he absolutely hates being a burden to others and is still uncomfortable being in situations where he isn't being of use to someone. He tends to relate his own happiness to being useful, and puts the happiness of others far above his own. He wants to be seen as reliable and independent, and often goes out of his way to apologize if someone has to make even the slightest change in their plans in order to incorporate him into them. It's a problem. He's working on it.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: A backbone, he has one! Ion, while respectful, is not afraid to speak his mind or scold people in need of scolding, even if they are several years older than he is. He has strong beliefs, backed up with knowledge and experience thanks to his travels, and won't hesitate to use said experience to prove his point. People listen to him not only because of his position, but because he uses his position well and is neither overbearing nor soft-spoken with it. He is easily one of the most level-headed people you will ever meet.
Weaknesses: Physical activity wears him the heck out. He's not the most physically fit kid in existence, and often needs to stop and rest from activities that normal people would consider "a walk in the park." Personality-wise, Ion is embarrassingly trusting of others, to the point where it gets him in trouble. A lot. It is normally considered a strength to be able to see the good in others, but Ion is so good at finding this that it blinds him to their often obvious shortcomings.

And you're sure that's what you want?
[The young bird before him nodded resolutely, trademark leek tucked neatly under her wing in a military-like fashion.]
Ah. I was afraid of that. [After all, he didn't much care for the idea of fighting.] Still, if becoming stronger is what you've decided for yourself, then as your trainer it's only right that I help you achieve that goal. I can't guarantee I'll be any good at first, so I hope you'll be patient with me. I guess that makes us a team now, right?
[The Farfetch'd nodded and reached toward him with her stick. The move confused him for a moment, but then it dawned on him that she intended to use the leek to "shake hands" with him. He accepted the offer with a relieved smile, feeling as though he'd been accepted.]
Oh, I should give you a name. How about... Penelope?
Third Person Sample:
...This wasn't right. To begin with, how could it have happened in the first place? This place had been a whirlwind of confusion since his arrival and he has been witness to many a strange act, but this, by far, was the most befuddling of all. And yet, it must be. It really was, one-hundred percent without a doubt, a dress he just pulled out of his backpack.
"Well this is awkward," he began, his voice laced with a mixture of confusion and embarrassment, "There's... I... I certainly can't make any use of this. Did... 'Mother' confuse the bag intended for me with someone else's?" To his left, a brown duck could be seen concealing her laughter behind a curved wing. "Come on, Penelope, this isn't funny..."
His plea fell on deaf ears however, as the young Farfetch'd continued to chortle herself silly. To be honest he didn't find her laughter all that irritating, but it certainly proved to make him feel even more embarrassed about the situation. He sat there a moment longer, staring up at the dress in disdain, until he quite suddenly found himself giggling along with her. There was something in the way she chirped that felt less like he was being antagonized and more like she was helping him try to laugh it off. It might be a bit of wishful thinking on his part, but he appreciated it all the same.
"Well, I guess it is a little funny," he conceded as he stood and began to fold the offending fabric in his arms, "Your laughter is very catching, you know. However, if we sit here all day laughing about this, then we won't get anything done. Let's be going."
Penelope offered him a perplexed glance, but he merely shook his head and smiled, beckoning her to follow as he set off. "Some little girl is missing a very cute outfit. We should return it to her."
