Oh how I've missed doing these. I just hope the Pokemon section of the Pit hasn't gotten too unruly with me gone. ;D

So I was going to spork this fic today, and I even wrote half of the report before I realized that I was basically praising the story the entire time. OOPS. (Take a look at it if you like; it's nothing special, but I did enjoy

I was actually a little disappointed with the fic bitching. I know little about pokemon except for snippets from my adolescent years so I don't know what has changed - if much. But what got to me was not the sue-ishness of the story or the misuse of objects or objectification, instead it was the lack of proper bitching.

The dialogue is enough to choke a donkey, verbs don't agree, "flashback" is underlined and italisized as well as it's ending...well you get the idea it goes on forever. However, none of this is really mentioned.

The real bitchers who rock my socks are people like bean_bunny or skinship. Red Anne Bonney takes it up another notch; not only is she humourous with her critique but she also has wonderful tips on how to write well. You should check them out.

Nope. Looked it up on seribii.net. Only way is by TM or evolution.

Well, wait a minute. If it can learn it by TM, then it certainly can learn it through proper breeding, although I suppose "egg move" might be the wrong terminology. If the sire has a move that the baby can learn by TM, the baby may be born with that move.

Does anyone else find it odd that the first two main characters who appear are both named after months of the year? I mean I know May is a canon name, but naming another daughter April starts to make me wonder about Norma's sense of humour :/

I saw a fic once in which May had eleven sisters and cousins or something. Guess what their names were?

I feel especially sorry for February, September, October, November and December. August and July are okay, but they make better boys' name. January is pretty bad, too, but that can at least be shortened to Jan. I guess in a pinch that October could be Tobi, and September, November, or December could be Ember. So I suppose that February comes out the worst of all of them.
