Characters: Caitlin, Darach, Youngster Joey
Summary: Darach is missing and a trainer now has to battle the Frontier Brain. Caitlin really doesn't want to do it, but she has no choice. For
nekusagi.
"Darach! CP for this trainer!"
He does not show up. Not even a few seconds after that.
"Darach!"
He still did not show up.
"Darach…" she mumbled to herself, and turned to the trainer, "I guess I have to give you CP."
"Miss Caitlin," Youngster Joey, the trainer, asked, "Shouldn't I be battling you now?"
She paused and looked at the boy, pondering. She hardly ever battled in her time as a member of the Frontier. It never interested her. She needed to relax; she could handle this. "We should, young trainer. I rise to your challenge!"
The two stood in the trainer boxes and decided which Pokémon they would use.
"I always know my first pick! He is in the top percentage of it's species! Go Rattata!"
A purple, rodent-like creature appeared from it's PokéBall, "Ra tata ra!"
Caitlin looked at the trainer with a blank expression. It wasn't like she was confused with the use of a Ratatta; she just wanted to take a nap. She figured he just used an Everstone on the creature due to his love for the species.
"Staraptor!"
A tall, majestic bird flew from it's PokéBall, soaring into the sky, then returned back to Earth with grace.
"Ratatta, use Double-Edge!"
The rodent moved toward the bird. It was just about to make it's attack.
"Double Team," yelled the princess.
The majestic creature doubled! Quadrupled! It surrounded the poor rat! It looked around and around with no clue as to where to real bird could be.
"Now, Staraptor, use Aerial Ace!"
The bird came up from behind the Rattata and hit it! It was a KO move! The Rattata fainted!
"No, Rattata! Return," the Pokémon was hit by a red beam and returned into it's PokéBall, "you were supposed to be victorious! Oh well, my next Pokemon will defeat her Pokémon! Go, Dunsparce!"
"Dun dunsparce!!"
Caitlin yawned and told her Staraptor to return. The crimson beam shot out of the PokéBall and absorbed the bird. "Go, Houndoom!"
"H-HooooooooooooooooUUUUUUUND"
"Houndoom use Fire Fang!"
Flames appeared in the dog's fangs, getting ready to strike the yellow bug.
"Dunsparce dodge it with Dig!"
"W-What?"
The yellow creature buried itself underground. The dog looked around extremely confused. Behind the dog the little creature popped up from the ground.
"Earthquake!"
The little critter made the Earth beneath their feet shake. Caitlin grabbed a hold to one of the wall behind her as the ground danced. Her Houndoom took some heavy damage.
"Now, Dunsparce! Gyro Ball!"
A shiny, silver, round object hit Houndoom, causing it to faint!
"O-Oh…"
"THAT WAS GREAT DUNSPARCE! YOU ARE IN THE TOP PERCENTAGE OF DUNSPARCE! RETURN!" It returned to it's PokéBall.
Caitlin took Houndoom's PokéBall out and had Houndoom return to it. She looked at the ball and wondered what just happened. This is why she wanted Darach to do the battling for her. She loathed losing.
Lady Caitlin, why are you acting like this? You're supposed to feel content! Come on now, there's one battle left! You can win this!
"That's something he would say," She muttered, fully ready to give it her all, even though she doesn't look like she is, "Empoleon!"
A tall, black and blue penguin stood before Joey.
"O-Oh… well then… come on, Bidoof!"
A small, woodland critter appeared out of it's PokéBall. Instead of making it's battle cry it just shivered in terror. The poor thing surrendered.
Both Joey and Caitlin stared into space. What the heck just happened?
"Ah, Lady Caitlin, I apologize for my absence, so please pardon me! I had some business to take care of that I could not tell you about. I would guess it would be a bit to--"
"Darach! I ordered you to come here fifteen minutes ago! Why didn't you come! I was just hopeless and I actually had to battle! You are so usel--"
"Before you continue, my lady, must I inform you that I always deliver your battles. You just proved that you could battle on your own. Have you realized that you always needed me for guidance in your life?"
Caitlin looked puzzled, yet she realized he was right. The blood rushed to her head because she was embarrassed.
"You Stunky-haired man! I hate it when you're always right!" She turned around and walked away, thinking to herself, "That's why I need you here."
Darach smirked and walked off with her.
Youngster Joey just stayed there petrified of what just happened.
A/N: I hope that you didn't mind me doing a twist with Caitlin and adding Joey. I figured a way to go with this is having her battle herself and realizing how much she needs Darach in her life. I'm really sorry if it turned out rushed. I'm a novice writer, but I had a lot of fun writing this! I hope you enjoyed it and hope you have a merry Christmas!
