Name: Allen Walker
Series: D.Gray-Man
Universe: OU
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Powers & Abilities: Oh dear… How to describe… Allen is a chosen user for “Innocence,” a power in the series that combats Akuma and Noah alike. His particular form is a parasitic type that was originally thought to be his arm. However, his Innocence has more or less incorporated into his entire body now. Allen can change the shape and form of his left arm. From the current arc, it can either have extremely long claws or he can make it into a sword that will only harm Noah or Akuma, not humans. His sync rate is incredibly high, so he’s rather powerful on his own. Allen also is the only one that can operate the Ark, since he has the Fourteenth Noah’s soul residing within him. He is immune to Akuma poisons as well. His left eye is a cursed eye and enables him to see Akuma at a distance and pinpoint their location. It can also see the souls that are attached to the Akuma.
Point of canon to be drawn from: Ch 184
Personality:
Allen was abandoned as a child. This is the root of the problem with him. He was adopted due to his left arm being deformed. Being that the case, he spent his early years as a brat. Allen was rather rude and blunt. He was a bit unfeeling and sort of callous, even to the point where he didn’t shed tears when a dog, which had only ever been friendly do him, passed on. During this time he seems to be a rather brash and arrogant child.
Then Mana took him in. That changed everything for Allen. Mana loved him and accepted him unconditionally. His adopted father always encouraged Allen to keep going. It completely altered Allen’s personality. He became a loving child. Allen is pretty accepting of every person under the sun, with few exceptions (Kanda). Friendly and loving, as well as compassionate and empathetic are good words to describe Allen. He deeply cares about people as well as the souls trapped inside the Akuma. Feeling and seeing their pain has instilled a need to free them in Allen. He desires to save the souls that the akuma are attached to. There is a point where he says that they are grim and gloomy beings that just want to be free. Allen really understands their pain and his heart goes out to them most, even if it causes conflicts with his other exorcists. He will even cry and mourn when he cannot. It disturbs him on a vast level when he is not able to save even one. Allen also refuses to kill the Noah because they are human.
He describes himself as a petty person. Allen really has no will to live other than to fulfill his promise to Mana. That is the only reason why he will continue to fight until there is no breath left in his body. He is also extremely protective of his friends (and the souls in the Akuma). Allen will go to great lengths to protect and save them, no matter what his state is or what the consequences will be. He really doesn’t let people exactly walk over him either.
On the surface, Allen seems polite to everyone he keeps within an arm’s reach. Even though he seems like a friendly person, no one is permitted too close to him. There might be a deep-seated issue with forming connections with people because he is afraid to lose them like he did Mana. There are times where Allen seems like a confused child, at least with his expressions. Sometimes, though a bit rare, where things just are too overwhelming. Even so, as time wears on, Allen seems to be more and more comfortable within the Black Order. He is less polite and far more blunt and open than what he used to be. The only person that he is down-right nasty with is Kanda and the feeling is mutual. He also carries a dislike for General Cross as well as a respect for the man. Allen just really dislikes all the things that the general put him through under his tutorage and leaves a rather bitter feeling in Allen. He always assumes the worst with the general and really doesn’t want to be anywhere near Kanda.
There is a darker side to Allen as well. He does tend to have weak moments and fits of rage. Most of this rage is targeted at the Millennium Earl. At the moment Allen is terribly confused and a bit hurt because of the recent revelation that he carries the Fourteenth Noah’s Soul within him. The feelings come into play simply because now he has to question if Mana ever loved Allen for “Allen.” This throws all of his beliefs and what he thought to be true out of balance. Yet the worst of Allen comes out when there is money involved. Yes… Allen has a horrible HORRIBLE habit of gambling using poker. Not only that… But he cheats. When money, particularly debts, is involved, the boy really almost gets this evil expression on his face. He turns more or less heartless.
Allen also loves food. He can eat. A lot.
Now there are also times where he doesn’t quite seem like himself…
Appearance:
The first notable feature on Allen is his snow white hair. It didn’t used to be that way, but after that incident with almost turning his adopted father into an Akuma, his hair turned that color. He has a rather fair complexion and grey-blue eyes. However, on the left eye is a red scar. On his forehead it is a pentacle and at the tip it runs down over Allen’s eye and almost down to his cheek. There is also a horizontal red scar that crosses it right under the eye itself. His left arm itself is a red colour (black in the anime I believe) and the digits on the fingers look rather sharp (the hand itself might actually have a claw like appearance now as well). It’s this way until you get to the shoulder/bicep were a pattern forms. It almost resembles a sun with the way there are triangular shapes splayed across the area. He also now has a scar that runs down the right side of his chest.
Allen’s usual attire consists of his black and white exorcist attire. He also wears gloves over his hands. Underneath the coat is a regular white blouse with a vest. A red ribbon is neatly tied around the collar of the blouse into a bow. The pants are also a rather form-fitting black and he also wears black boots that are about knee-high.
History:
Allen Walker was an abandoned child, as mentioned earlier. Because of the way that his left arm was, his parents dumped him. He grew a bit as a lost child and was a rather unruly one at that. That all changed the day that he met Mana. Mana was a clown. After a scene with a dog that followed the circus and was apparently the only thing to be nice to Allen, Mana takes the child in. Allen grows terribly attached to Mana and loved him like the man was his own father. One could say the same thing to Mana. However, there is an accident that ends up taking Mana’s life.
Plagued by grief and sorrow after the only person that he ever loved, Allen is a ripe target for the Earl. And thus the Earl makes a proposition to bring back Mana. Allen, still a child, agrees and calls Mana back, the soul now stuck into the machine that is an Akuma. Mana, in tears, lashes out at Allen and curses him. Just when it appeared that Allen would die at the Mana (now Akuma’s) hands, his arm activates for the first time. Allen takes down the Akuma and frees Mana’s soul. Due to the curse, Allen can now see the soul that is trapped inside the Akuma.
And thus he is given another choice by the General Marian Cross. Cross takes on Allen as an apprentice to become an exorcist. For three years the boy suffers under the general. He had to basically find means to pay for his own meals and whatnot. Allen even had to settle some of Cross’ debts. There is even one point at which Allen has to care for a very suspicious plant with teeth. Determined to atone, Allen doesn’t turn and run away and takes Cross’ almost Spartan sort of treatment. That is… Until Cross declares him an actual exorcist. Cross tells Allen that they have to go to the Black Order’s HQ. He then promptly sends the golem, Timcampy, with Allen in his place. And then… Cross disappears.
Allen eventually makes it to the Order, after having a few setbacks. Once he arrives, it seems that no one knew that he was coming in the first place. The gate examines him and sees the pentacle. Allen is immediately mistaken as one of the Earl’s allies and Kanda goes into attack. After going through a mess of letters, Komui does indeed find Cross’ letter concerning Allen. Lenalee is the one that stops Kanda and takes Allen inside. From there, Allen is introduced to the world of the Black Order and everything about the Akuma and Innocence is explained there.
Then there were missions. The first one he had to go on was with Kanda about the Ghost of Martel. Once the pair gets there, Allen is introduced to his first Level Two Akuma. This one can copy powers as well as the skin of the person he desires. After much difficulty, Allen’s rage over comes him (if you want to know why… then I suggest you read the series) and his arm adjusts accordingly. It can now take the shape of a sword and a gun. He defeats the Akuma with the injured Kanda’s help and they retrieve the Innocence.
The next mission is with Lenalee. She and Allen are sent to check out a town that is constantly experiencing the same day over and over again. Once they are there, they are met with Miranda. Miranda is the key to solving the puzzle and both exorcists keep an eye on her. That is… Until the Noah, Road Kamelot, comes on the scene. She distracts Allen and Lenalee with Akuma and takes Miranda and her clock into almost a separate reality. They two follow after her, but are injured pretty badly. Road explains what the Noah are to a very shocked Allen, even going so far as to hug him to prove she is human. Long story short, Miranda activates her innocence and then Lenalee and Allen take out most of the Akuma. Road escapes, but not before delivering a mental blow to Allen. His eye is also stabbed during this fight and it is rendered unusable.
They never make it back to headquarters and Komui comes there to fix them up. It is there that they are introduced to Lavi and Bookman. Allen wanders off, having to deal with the loss of his vision for the first time. He is attacked by Akuma and Lavi ends up fighting alongside him. Lavi and Bookman are to be joining in on the next mission as well: to find General Cross (which Allen is not all that pleased about). A side stop leads them to their next exorcist, Crowley. The locale believe that he is a vampire and thus force Lavi and Allen to check it out. Once inside the castle, they discover that Crowley was only attacking Akuma. The woman at his side was also an Akuma. Allen’s eye comes back and improved greatly, as if it evolved. Crowley ends up taking out the Akuma and joining the team on the way to get Cross.
As if thing couldn’t get worse, the teams comes across a fallen. Lenalee knows who this is and asks Allen to free the guy. Allen does his best and is basically to the point of death himself as he tries to help Soman. Once he manages to, the soul seems to have left completely. As soon as he is relieved, Allen gets another surprise. This one comes in the form of the Noah Tykki… And Allen is on his list of people to assassinate. Allen cannot fight Tykki at all really and the Noah ends up destroying Allen’s innocence and very nearly killing him.
When Allen is conscious next, he finds himself in the care of Bak. There is a slight ordeal, trial maybe, that Allen goes through internally. He decides that he is going to keep fighting, Innocence or no Innocence. And thus Bak shows him something rather interesting. Allen’s Innocence was never broken. It basically exists within Allen. Bak takes Allen to a room that is filled with fog. This fog is Allen’s broken down Innocence. After days of trying to get it back, Bak doesn’t think there is enough time. The guardian diety, Fou, takes it upon herself and starts to fight Allen almost nonstop. The plan is that battle will somehow trigger the activation. This doesn’t work until an Akuma actually shows up to take Allen to Tykki in Japan. Bak and Fou are on the verge of losing their lives when Allen’s Innocence takes on another form. He defeats the Akuma and the entrance to the Ark to Japan was left open. His new form is called “Clown Crown.” Allen also doesn’t take any time to go and chase after his friends that are in danger.
One thing leads to another and the crew find themselves inside the Ark that the Earl is deleting. They have to get to the top before three hours are up. There are many battles along the way and they have to end up leaving a few people behind (Kanda and Crowley chose this of their own accord). At the top tower, Tykki and Road are waiting. Whatever are left start to fight. Road battles Lavi and Allen Tykki. Allen gains the sword ability and supposedly removes the Noah from Tykki. Lavi is having a harder time because the battle seems to take place in his soul. Lavi and Allen have a duel until Lavi eventually overcomes his other persona and Road. Something goes amiss with Tykki and everyone starts participating in the battle that could turn out badly.
Yet out of the blue, Cross arrives. He takes care of things and shoos Allen off to the control room. Allen manages to restore the Ark and all those that were lost within it by playing the piano inside the room. It is this point in which Allen starts to become aware of the other person residing in his soul. This only becomes clearer after the mess in the Order. A level Four appears within the Order’s HQ and all are doing whatever they can do defeat it to no avail. It’s only after Lenalee’s Innocence changes form that she and Allen are able to take it down.
Allen is then told about what is going on inside of him. He does indeed possess the Fourteenth Noah’s soul. Eventually that soul will override “Allen” and he will become that Noah. Allen throws a fit and declares that his heart is his alone. Cross soon disappears from the Order, though it looks like he was murdered, not that Allen believes that in the least. He is then whisked away on another mission that ends up with another level 4 Akuma. In order to beat it, he stabs himself. Yet it hurts him as well, only confirming the Noah within him. For a moment… Allen doesn’t really seem like himself.
And thus is the point where Allen is taken to Crucen, shortly waking up after this little battle.
