BTW, a beer recommendation that you can probably find... a seasonal from Widmer: Pitch Black IPA. The label has a big "W'10" on it in black and red.
From the name, you'd maybe think it is a hoppy stout, but no, it's just a nice IPA with a dark color, thanks to starting from dark malts. When all is said and done, it is just a slightly richer IPA, and a very nice one. Swap the excess bitter/floral found in a typical flagship IPA for mellow dark base, and that's it. Very nice. And at 6.5%, it delivers on multiple levels.
I got it at Teardrop during Tiki Night. Blair, who works at Thatch now, ran it. He's the best Tiki drink maker in town, so you'll still have to go to Thatch. :\

I actually tired one of those last week on a whim. Sooo tasty. It might be my new favorite IPA.

If you'd like to make it yourself, try this recipe. Soooo tasty!
Scorpion from Steve Crane’s Luau, 1958
1 oz lime juice
2 oz orange juice
2 oz gold Puerto Rican rum
2 oz gin
1 oz brandy
3/4 oz simple syrup
1 oz orgeat syrup
8 oz crushed ice
Donate everything to a blender. Spin up like the devil for 3 seconds. Pour, unstrained, into a wisely sized bowl. Drink by yourself or with friends.
